Good Morning Corinne =)
How are you? I hope that you are getting some rest around all of the sewing for the charity?
We have been trying to get Dawn to stay in bed and not sit up and post. She is quite sick and we are all hoping that her fever breaks tonight and she gets some rest, poor thing.

Dawn, I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this...
hello to all the rest of you, haven't checked in much as the turmoil at work continues and we were shooting a commercial this week so I had to get up at 3am twice to go in to make sure everything was pretty. Now I'm going to bed
Talk to y'all soon I hope

Morning Mavens,
Hope this finds you much better Queen Dawn.
Soooo Good to hear from you Amy Grace. I know how that work thing goes. I used to manage a bakery/deli, oh the drama!
Ha, LOL, Tina Michelle, that is so funny. Here I was thinking you were some stoic woman out there in that snow barefoot. That is just too funny. No I didn't see the sea oats, I'm still in half a daze from my trip, just waiting for the weekend. Think I caught a bug on one of the four planes I was on.
Hi Miss Annika.
A hello/good night to you Corinne.
I'll check in later today.

HI there. A little meek today as i reread my posts of last night and am a bit embaressed. Almost like being drunk and finding out what you did the night before...yikes! I knew that i was trying to be silly but jeesh!
I hope no one thinks I've totally lost my gourd....

Today I'm still gonna lay low. I figure one more day cant do any harm. Been trying to make and cut out chicken aprons to sell to the hatchery... Need some extra money for the holly-days...wink!

And what are good little mavens wishing for this Christmas???

Alee, glad to have ya around...again!

Corrine.... have a splendid day my dear.... I have no idea how the Pepe' le Pew thing came into play but I sincerely can state that Pepe' will forever rest in Warner Brother Land and not here.... I told everyone a while back I needed a cartoon fix!!!

Talk with you later girls.... I am gonna lay on the the sofa and laze my day away.....

good day to ya'll ladies hope you had a restfull sleep and I know that you have a nice day ahead of you.
Alee, glad to have you around again.
I am baking bread tonight so will be around a bit longer to see what's happening around in your part of the world.
Today was 98 F... cannot wait to have cooler temperatures again, cool enough to have coat and boots on... do not laugh, last year it snowed in the desert and we had only 40 f inside the house... for a couple of months. Guess why I am hand quilting hehehe

I have never lived in a desert, but I have visited several in the states. They can actually get rather cold and have a fair bit of dry snow in places. It is frosty here this morning, and I am going to be wearing a little coat to my afternoon appointments. Which is a joy after a really hot summer. I hope that you get your cooler weather soon Corinne!

Dawn I hope you are getting better, sorry you have been so sick.
Alee it is good to have you around, I know you are very busy, but we do miss you.

EDIT: ARRRRGGGGG! I want everything in the Baker Creek book, and in several other catalogues as well! I will need a zillion acres to plant everything that I want! And that doesn't include my roses or orchard! There are some beautiful short season varieties in several Canadian Catalogues that I want, better make that TWO zillion acres! Okayz, I'm better now.

Once again I am in awe of all you wonderful Mavens. You all are so loving, giving, and to top it off, you all have wonderful senses' of humor. Amazing.
I am typing with mittens on as it is soooooo cold here in the house. I started a fire, but it takes a bit to warm up. I had to scrape the frost off my windshield this morning. Well, I'm going to mosey on over to the henhouse and see if I can gather so eggs, wink, wink.
Hope you are feeling better Q. Dawn.

aww man..I am just heart sick today..we have 7 lovely pine trees in our front yard and well the power company contracts to Asplundh to sheer off only what is touching/on the side of the power lines..well today..they got a good bit more tree cutting happy and actually came into the yard and have hacked and sheered off parts of the trees way on the other side of the trees in my yard nothing that even remotely touches the power lines!I mean if you had seen these trees before and to look at them now oh my land sakes they are totally sheered and look very, very bare. They literally were in the front half of my yard with their boom bucket..not on the street side but clear into the other part/other side of the tree sheering off branches that the previous times they never even touched. I am upset to say the least and am afraid that they have killed my trees. I'm the only house left on the street that has beautiful pines in the front yard that are home to several owls.
sorry just had to rant a minute.

anyhow I hope you all have a good day.

Oh Tina!! That makes me so mad to think about that!! I would have went out there and pitched myself a good hissy fit!!!!! Hmmm....do people even use that term anymore?
When I see the parish/county tractors coming down the road, I go stand outside to make sure they DO NOT mow down my red clover that I have growing in my ditch. LOL!! They give me the strangest look and say to me,"you don't want us to mow it for you?" And I tell them, "no, I don't. I want it to re-seed first and when it is finished then I will mow it myself!"

If it was my pine trees that they butchered, I would take pictures of it and be making a phone call both to their company and to the Wild Life and Fisheries Dept. That's just me though. :) I made my hubby leave an old dead oak in our yard way in the back because the owls and woodpeckers nest in it. Want me to call 'em for ya? :P

Heehee, I thought I was the only one to use the term "hissy fit" anymore.
But I'm mad as I can be about your trees. And the poor owls! I'm so sorry Tina. I'm a tree lover and hate when they get butchered like that.

Good afternoon, Mavens!!

I am still waiting for my Seed Savers catalog. I love the book I got at the library yesterday. Such awesome colorful pictures of heirlooms. I can't wait to read it all. I need to get a Baker's Creek catalog. I'll head over to the henhouse to check out how to contact them.

Dawn~I hope you're feeling better.
Tina~I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful trees. What a shame. I would definitely complain to someone.
Teresa Sue~I hope you warm up soon.
Alee~Nice to hear from you out of the homework vortex.
Corrine~When does it snow in the desert. I know it could be cold but never knew about the snow.
Annika~I need about a gazillion acres for everything I would like to plant too. I don't even have one acre here. YUGH!

Finally got to the henhouse and caught up on everything in there! I even md my profile.

Tina Asphlund was in front of our house a few years ago and thought it was funny to tease (torture) my big dog! I called the company and they imediatly apologized and said it would not happen again. Never has.

I am heading back to the henhouse-I have cleaned out my seed to make room for the new and have a few to offer.

For some reason it says "I do not have acess to this forum" when I try and post to the Mavens bulitin board, a minute before I had responded to a post in the bios-go figure. Any way here I am again and just letting you know I will try again later to post my seeds.
