FYI: In addition to putting our duties in the bios, they're also listed in the Heirloom Mavens Beginners Guide. I did some editing there today, adding Marcy's new Fundraiser Coordinator duty and updating the bumper sticker info. Check it out and let me know if it's accurate or what I need to fix.

Glad to have you back, TS! You missed us - as evidenced by your presence in the henhouse. And thanks for the HMBC update. I was wondering about the second book. I ordered it yesterday just in case we were starting it. Now I have it for advanced planning.

Thanks, I missed all of you too! BTW, I went to the henhouse and looked up PQ, haha! Yes, I've been quite the chatty cathy today. I am leaving the computer now and am going to go unpack my sutitcase, clean up my kitchen and bathroom and rescue my laundry. Hey, do any of you do the Fly Lady thing?

cough.. cough.... hi there. I am here wrapped up like a burrito in a blanket. I dont know what my Zone is... great gardener I am huh?
I ate some ice cream then did the soda & water thing...then I "parked the buick"... which is another slang for drive the porcelain bus..... its too gross to go into detail as to why we call it "buick" versus throw up..... whatever. i have a sick sense of humor. Anyhow, I did the ice cream thing first cuz i cant tolerate urping anything else.....its not so bad after ice cream!
JAck sounds like a fun dog... I may be taking in a mini donkey but I keep getting the look from Jerry....hee hee....
Okay, over to henhouse and a looky around.

Yes we miss you Rene and you two Dawn and all of the busy Mavens. You all have a place and are missed when you aren't here.
I've been working on my Baker Creek wish list all afternoon and have decided that I want everything :P I love their catalogue!
Seriously! I'm having such a hard time figuring out what to buy. Good thing I don't have a lot of money! I can't wait for this garden and I hope that I have enough water this year to keep it from frying. The land lords pump kept going out and I just gave up trying to keep things watered this year. Better luck this coming one. I'm trying to choose plants that will put up with dry spells better. I lived in the UK and Germany when I was little, and then in Seattle so my brain is just wired to a moister climate and I'm trying to learn how to grow things in dryer conditions.
Being part of this mavenhood, I expect we will all learn a lot from each others successes and mistakes. We don't DO failures  just oopsies! I am so looking forward to reading these books and sharing ideas and thoughts with all of you. Just think how much we can learn, brain storming off on another. We have come so far from a single post! I bet no one is more surprised then Rene!
On another topic, once we get going I would love to get some tee-shirts going with the Maven name and logo for us, as well as the bumper sticker slogan on shirts to sell at fairs and such.
Wouldn't that be cool? As I keep saying I can't wait to see us next year. We have so much growing to do and I'm trying like heck to curb my excitement and wild ideas to a dull roar. I'm going to try and make maven notebook covers and maybe embroider my own MJ's Heirloom Mavens t-shirt this winter.
As I have said this is a wonderful, idea-spinning group and I am just so glad that I have been part of it from the start, what a ride!

After all, you can't murderize the French language and the Italian culture when you are in your well mind, ROFL Forgive her Corinne, she has halucinated with fever, excuse spelling please. My fingers are sooooo cold. I need to go light a fire in the wood stove. Brrrrrr. My tomatoes made it through last night, but it's supposed to be four degrees colder tonight. I hate living in this old drafty wind tunnel of a house, I'll be glad when we get moved. I keep saying, "Just one more winter."

ha..no that is not snow..we live near a beach..about 15 miles away from a pretty secluded beach where the sand is as white as snow. I get asked that alot about the picture..ha. but if you notice I am sitting near a sand dune that has sea oats growing in it.I'm not brave enough to go barefoot in the snow.
