True, Alee! In fact, inspired by MaryJane, I polished my nails last week for the first time in a long time. But alas, it isn't me. Just didn't feel right. I'll just keep 'em short and buffed. And isn't that the wonderful thing about MaryJane - it's really about being your true self and living it to the best of your ability. Full throttle!

I am not a fingernail polish kinda "girl", but I love cute toe nails. Maybe because I wear lots of toeless shoes... but if I really, really, really want to feel pampered then I MUST have a pedicure and cutesy polish on my toe nails.
I told you that I fell at the farmers Market a couple weeks ago. Turns out I cracked my hip bone~ and I was in pain for several days, but I am feeling better... the doctor said he was so impressed that I "plowed thru it" without too much hassle. I told him I was so elated to discover I had HIPS, it was to hard to be to misserable... ahahah (lol) you just can't know how thrilled I was... I have been wondering about that for some time. LOL
Along that girly line ~ I spoke at a women's retreat on the 5th and the gal that was introducing me was telling a story about her 20 something aged daughters being home and how they all wore each others clothing except for the one that was a double 0.. (Yea right)... So I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a double 0... So when I got up to speak... I thanked her for her beautiful intro and told her she SO MADE MY DAY.... and she said oh how? and I said, It brings me great joy to know those tiny little gals have to wear double digits too... LOL
OK not sure how I got there from red nail polish... but..............I love being a girl, I think we are so diverse. I love that we can be covered in dirt and sweat and yet our toes are "perfect"...Whats not to love about that?

TS, Thank you for your kind words, there are few things that bring me the kind of joy that connecting people with other people or ideas or purpose brings me. While some people can sit out in nature and see "the divine" all around them, and some through music... I feel it most when I see "people". I love to be in a room and blend into the wall and just watch and listen and fall in love with peoples hearts and really see their brilliance (sometimes even before the do), and then to get to write about it is nothing short of JOY. MJ takes a huge risk with me as I am severely dyslexic and have to really fight through it, and at times I KNOW I can drop her to her knees with my spelling and quirky ways I put sentences together.. Luckily she is the kind of person that can see the hearts of others... While I know that her heart cannot take a lot of my writing I do know that in the next issue I have another story that is near and dear to me~ and I cannot wait for you all to see it.
I have said 1000 times, I may never be a Miss Wilma, or Franny, Or Dawn, Sue, Karen but as long as I breathe I will want to do my part to insure the rest of the world knows there are amazing people doing amazing things.

The green had to go.... Its a granite gray with white trim now... I will post the "new" house when done... I am really excited about it.... I hated that everyone referred to my house as the BOOGER!

Rene you are a treasure. I like to stand in the corner and just enjoy people and who they are too. There is so much wonderful potential just waiting to bloom. If we put our minds and hearts to it there is little we can't do. You are a power to be reckoned with, don't you worry trying to compare yourself to others. You are you and that is all you need to be =) We are thrilled to have you as a sister, I'm sure I speak for everyone here.

Rene, I just love your posts! They're so inspiring. I would have loved being at the women's retreat to hear you speak.
And count your lucky stars you're not like me! For one thing, you KNOW how you got your aches and pains - mine just come at me from the HMV and I don't know what hit me. (Thanks for calling me the right arm in the henhouse post as my left arm's been out of commission til today.) And if you were inside my head you'd be screaming to get out. It's a very scary place in there.

Whew!! - Just got caught up on reading posts. I didn't get much time yesterday so had to make up for it today. I love the bumper sticker. The point about the modern hand - well "she's" (by she's, I mean the picture)the one who needs to learn that a pretty lawn doesn't mean you have to have "yard candy" (annuals that do nothing) and Trugreen to keep up with the neighbors. Set your own standard and grow the heirlooms like grandma had. Teach the children about where the plants and flowers came from. And that they don't "come" from Home Depot and Walmart. And that pretty grass doesn't have to come from the toxic liquid in the back of a truck. Show them how to compost and make their own "tea".
Sorry about that - We were learning about HazMat in training today. Did you know that kitty litter gives off small but tracable amounts of radiation? Did you know that your smoke detector had radialogical materials in it? I sure didn't until today. Did you also know that the government is planning on opening the Yucca Mountains in 2020 for storage of nuclear waste? And that when they do that, most of the N.W. from the eastern US will pass right through the state of Indiana? They are also going to store the N.W. in old salt mines and seal them up. Scary thought, huh?
I had to get that off my chest as my h and son are away for the weekend. Gotta run, I have to work at an auction this evening.
See ya tomorrow

Yea, that whole nuclear energy thing really bothers me. I just don't see how anything good can come from something that has such toxic waste. That we can't get rid of and nobody, I mean, nobody wants. I say ban nuclear energy. Stepping off the soapbox and joining Lora in the wings. ------ I won't be posting for a couple of days Mavens. I'm heading out in the morning on a bus trip to Montana. Thirty some of us are headed to the Kalispel Quilt Show on Sun. We're going to Missoula Sat to spend the night, haunt some quilt shops and rummage through their four story antique mall. I've got a birthday gift to look for and I might find something for a certain fun box that's in the making(wink, wink, Annika). I just hope I can have a good time, and not think about y'all and whats going on here! I will really be suffering from that no posting syndrome thing.LOL ---- I recieved my books, yeah. Man you should see the MONTROSE, LIFE IN A GARDEN book. It is beautiful. Has gorgeous drawings. I can't wait to get into it. ----- I decided I'm going to start an heirloom ornamental garden at the cemetery and let people pick from it for their loved ones that live there. It will be a good way to share and spread the word. I might get to pop in later, but if I don't see y'all Mon morning. Love ya,

TS, you have a wonderful relaxing time and we'll try to keep the new stuff to a reasonable amount so you don't have to sprain your fingers when you get back. Enjoy the quilt/antique mall explorations. It sounds wonderful.
And you're idea of an heirloom ornamental garden - INSPIRED!

Dawn...this is a little off topic but you mentioned the grand opening of the farmer's market in your area...I was thinking about an idea this afternoon for markets/public events that try to highlight going more local/natural. I was thinking that if events like this had barbecue type foods(alot of public events sometimes do have those barbecue dinners/fish fries and what not) like burgers and chicken available to the public...wouldn't it be neat to have a small table set up where you offer just regular small pieces of burger(meatballs) and chicken(nuggets) to let folks taste the regular varities they get at the stores then offer the free range/organic versions for them to have a taste difference/see a difference. They can see the difference in fillers/fat content as well as in taste. Now..bring that idea over into the garden/produce market stands... what about offering small samples of vegetables that are mass grown/industry grown/chemically sprayed/waxed,etc. compared to home grown/organic practice/heirloom varities grown for the customers to have a taste comparison?? This might be a way to introduce more folks to the idea...they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach..well... the brain isn't too far away from the stomach either..and if the taste buds see a difference..many it will spark the brain cells to start wondering about just why there are taste differences and quality differences. Food for thought there.:0)Just thought I'd toss out the idea for those that might be involved in public events where food vending is available.
