Soooo glad that ya'll liked it. I have several more books to go through and read. I hate crawfish and that is one thing that my relatives insist on doing every year at Easter is a crawfish boil! YUCK!! I prefer shrimp or crab. New Orleans used to be a beautiful city when I was a little girl. I would not live there anymore though, it is not the same, but I hold my memories of how it used to be real close to my heart. Dawn, I once had to come to a dead stop in the road in order to let a gator cross to the other side. You know, they are not as slow moving as they look! I love getting together with my mom's side of the family... our Cajun dialect flows so care free. It is fun for sure. I am on this old slow poke dial up, so it takes me awhile to catch up.

Karen...I would love a copy of your version. Thanks.
Corinne...no, those 2 cats didn't listen either. They played high speed chase through the house!!

Karen, we have NOT the slimest idea. I personnaly think we will be in a hotel, awaiting our leave, on Christmas day, and in a small apartment in France on NY eve.
We have been invited for dinner on Christmas eve and on Christmas day, so we can have a feeling of frienship and community, with the songs, the tree and the cookies.

Hey - I finally managed to check in on Maven Chat night. Corinne - so glad to find you here - which address should I use in order to get things to you in time? Cranberry cake is tempting....
Teresa Sue and Dawn, glad to see your unquenchable humor is still in play:D
I have been reading a little bit of my garden books today - not enough to get sad because it is too early, just enough to give me ideas

funny thing happened today..hubby had ordered some seeds off of ebay last Christmas..and we had contacted the seller that the seeds didn't arrive..like a month hubby ordered them last year..well..he/she resent some to us last year and that batch arrived as it should have...but..today..the original batch arrived in our mailbox with a postal date of 12/11/07 how weird huh?
wonder where they were sitting for so long.
seeds for dwarf pomegranate and some lobelia flowers and peaches and cream verbena...ha
too funny.
a whole year late.

I love Cajun stuff too. When we went to visit Robbie's great aunt (she lives in Texas) several years ago we stopped in Louisiana for lunch at Mulate's. There was a billboard with directions to it and we were hungry. The food was fantastic although it was hard to understand the waitress because her accent was really strong. (Brenda, I can't wait to hear yours! I love a Cajun accent - but I love them more when I can understand what the person is saying. )

And your story sounds like the lead in to a joke: "Why did the gator cross the road?"

TS, I'll let you take it from here because you are ON tonight girl. Black gold - Christmas tree - Robbie's in the room playing his Christmas tree and I had to stop and explain why I was laughing so hard!

God bless -

I'm going to be going through my seed packets soon and figuring out what I can get planted this year in the 2 raised beds we left in the yard..as long as we are here I ought to be growing something out there
and shoot if I have to leave the stuff here maybe the new owners will enjoy it.

Amy Grace, good to see you, it seems we haven't been on together at the same time for ages.
I am not sure that if you send your gift to the NY address it is going to make it. Letters and packets are making a very slow move to us at the moment because they are inundated in the carrier's office in NY. If you do not mind the extra posting i will send you my parents's address, other wise, bring it with you to Paris in march, what do you think ?
