I know so many people here love Victoria magazine. You might get a smile out of this, I know I did.

I went up to RiteAid this morning to print out some pictures. As I was waiting for them to come out of the kiosk, I gathered up a few other items and set them on the counter. A tall young professional looking black man walked up to check out, and I saw him notice my magazine and turn it to look at the cover. "Is this yours?" he asked. "I love Victoria, it's such a great magazine."

Now, I don't know about you but I always imagine the typical Victoria reader as a true girly girl (although that's not me at all, go figure). Another stereotype shattered!

Great story! Yep, I always pictured the great majority of Victoria readers as ladies drinking tea and reading Austen (wait that's me! lol :) Good to know it's got a wide following, maybe they'll think twice before canceling it again. ;P

I've caught my husband going through my Victoria magazine. He really loves the recipes and the pictures they have in there of old homes & gardens. I didn't know they were contemplating canceling the magazine again. I sure hope they don't!

Dawn, don't worry - they're not thinking of canceling it again (that I know of!) I just said that because it was so unexpected when they canceled it last time. Hopefully it'll be wildly popular, and stick around for a long time :)

I just love Victoria magazine. I still have quite a few from the 80's. I guess were just Victorian farm girls. Vicki

I absolutely love Victoria magazine. I have loads of them that someone gave me. I actually found the premeire issue in the stack the other day. I just look at them over and over again. They are so beautiful.

Too funny about the guy. My husband would never.

Hi Victoria Magazine lovers!

I only have two shakes of a lamb's tail to post because I'm shooting PBS footage this week, meaning I get up at 4 am to memorize my lines and go to bed still memorizing text for the next day. (My farm crew thinks I've taken up talking to myself.) Stay tuned for all the details.

I've been wanting to comment on this thread ever since it started. The editor of Victoria Magazine and her photographer friend (the first time I've ever had a female photographer here) came this summer for a story. I was absolutely smitten by them, their mission, their generosity, their style. (Lots of good stories and campfire laughter.) By the time they drove down the road, I knew I'd made a couple of life-long girlfriends. The MJF story will apear sometime in the spring. Farmgirls, make sure your subsciption to their wonderful magazine is current. These girls are on a roll. Not to mention, it's important to support their efforts. We want them around for the long haul this time.

Thanks for letting us know you'll be in a spring issue MaryJane! I love Victoria magazine almost as much as yours! The pictures in both magazines are gorgeous. I can't wait to see your show on PBS!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be watching for that issue. I've been thinking about this little incident again these past few days (since Ruth sent me a big box of Victoria back issues in a trade!) I wish I'd been a little quicker of thought and asked the man to tell me what he likes about Victoria. Could have done a little market research for them ;)

I really, really, like Victoria magazine. My birthday is next month and I've told my Mother that I want subscriptions to both MJF and Victoria. The spring issue should be neat with Mary Jane! I look forward to hearing about the PBS airing too.

Blessings!

Amie,
My mom has visited the Finger Lakes area and loves it. I would love to visit someday. Let me know if you are interested in any more of the magazines. You wouldn't believe the pile I have, many with doubles.
