I was just thinking that with school starting up for many, the hard work in the garden, the hurricanes, and daily stress- perhaps it would be neat to see what was the best thing that happened to you personally this week?
Mine is:
Nora has been going through a phase where she was a bit less lovey and even more independent than normal. I didn't think she could get more independent- but she proved me wrong once again! LOL Anyway, I was playing with her the other day and made a point to hold her face still so I could snag a quick kiss. Now she is suddenly happy with sharing kisses again and grab my face so she can kiss my cheek. It's so cute! It makes my day when she is so lovey since I know these innocent days are numbered! Soon she is going to learn to talk!!

The best (and scariest) thing that happened this week to me, I found a lump in my right breast a big one,a hard one. Scared the holy living you know what out of me.I worried about it for a few days and then decided I NEEDED to have it checked (actually I mentioned it to a friend and she strongly : ) insisted I have it checked). I went and had a breast exam by the Doctor, who wanted to do an Ultrasound and then possibly a Mamogram, but they did the ultrasound and then told me it is Fibercycstic breat tissue.NOT CANCER. Which I was affraid of. I have kids.I have a husband. I am 28 years old. I couldnt be sick. I just couldnt be right? But there is that naggin voice in your head you could be sick what happens to your family if something happens to you right? Well needless to say The BEST thing this week was being told "It isnt breast cancer, I think if you slowed down on the caffiene that it MAY go away. If not see your Dr. but it ISNT breast cancer."

Hmmmmm my best thing of the week was my friend visiting yesterday and gifting me with the cutest new apron ever. Lots of other small things happened but that one stands out for sure.

The best thing this week was that the fella and I took a little holiday with my brother and his girlfriend. It was the first time we've ever been able to do that and it was great! We went to a little inn in Pennsylvania, went thrifting, ate way too much pie, played euchre, and did puzzles. So relaxing and fun!
If you're ever in Northern PA, check out the Riverside Inn. My bro and I have gone there since we were kids. It's a real neat historic Inn, and cheap as chips! www.theriversideinn.com/

Oh Alee! I don't blame you for wanting to hold onto those lovey dovey moments for as long as you can. My girls are both loveies. Hallie more so, but she's still only 6. Caitie's 11 so that I think is kinda rare. But my Matthew, that was always momma's baby and no one else's barely even says bye to me half the time. I know he loves his momma, he just doesn't want to get embarrassed.
Yippee Amanda! So scarey, but I'm sooooo happy it turned out not to be cancerous.
Melanie, how's Oliver doing? I was thinking about you and your new baby boy yesterday. My guy and I were at a rodeo and you wouldn't believe all the new lil babies that were there. I'm so happy for you. Give him kisses from me!
Ok so what's the best thing that happened to me this week? Wow that's kinda tough. I feel I have been very blessed this week. Jeremy and I had a great time last night at the rodeo in Palestine, IL. That was loads of fun. I found Caitie a saxophone at a really good price. I almost didn't get it and then decided to go ahead. I was gonna hide it before she ever got home, but the kiddos stopped in yesterday on their way to go swimming with their dad. And she saw it. She is sooooo excited!!! So now I know I did the right thing in buying it. I love to see my babies smiling!! Jeremy and I will be engaged for a year on the 8th, which is also my birthday and the day Hallie's drawing the name for my giveaway on my blog. (If you haven't signed up on my blog, go go go!) Anyways anytime I have tried to talk to him about getting married or finding a home he changed the subject or just completely ignored me. So I got the feeling he just really didn't want to and I quit bringing it up. Then out of the blue the other day he starts talking about when we should get married. At first I really think he's joking around about it. But somewhere in our conversation I realize he's serious. The day is set for October 10,2009. He told me he picked the day so the rest was up to me.

well .. since this is SUNDAY at 3 p.m. .. the 'best' thing that happened to me today was going to get a FANCY NANCY doll for grand-daughter Sofia's second birthday. HONESTLY .. this is the cutest doll i've seen in a VERY long time!
I ran and got all three of the books that go with her too! gonna' check out the web-site to see if there is anything i missed. gonna' get her crown, purse and shoes too! AND i got a darling' look-alike dress for Sofia to wear. The books had me just laffin' out loud .. Sofia IS Fancy Nancy! Alee .. dooo check them out! The independent little 'body language' is EXACTLY what Sofia does when she does not get her way! Great little morals to the sweet stories too!
OH .. i also got her a darling 'ball gown and shoes' for her Princess Party .. AND four extra pairs of princess shoes (the disney princesses .. they come in a really cute Shoe Box). Sofia is SOOOOOOOO PRISSY! (FANCY i should say) .. anyhoo .. that was such fun .. i couldn't wait to call daughter Wednesday and tell her all about them!
THEN i went antiquing .. jus' got a few little things .. but it was fun.
(OH .. another 'good thang' i did was to take honey hunk to the airport this morning at 6 a.m.! he is going to go sailing for a week with my first-husband!) This is a 'good thang' cuz' i love that we honor each other's independence in having our own separate adventures in addition to our together ones.)
i have a week now to do gurly-gurl stuff! xo

I got a new rug for under my dining room table today! It's a beautiful shade of green and brings the leaves out in the wallpaper. I'm very happy! Susan |

The best thing that happended to me this week is that I got through the week without pulling out my hair or loosing my voice. I've been teaching a developmental reading class at our local commumity college for the last 1 1/2 and this year I was asked to teach 4 classes this semester! I love my students and I love to teach but 4 classes is really going to keep me on my toes! Amanda, I'm glad that your lump turned out to be nothing-I too have had 2 cysts in my left breast and you're right, it scared the bah-gibbers out of me when I discovered each one. Alee, it's been a long time since I had little ones but-my two sons-21 and 23 still kiss me everyday and Dad too! They will even kiss us in front of their friends.

Not to be too sappy -- it was a great week, but really, the best thing that happened was finding this site and forum. It's really got me thinking about all kinds of good things, and how I want to share the things I learned growing up (and from MJF) with my family. Off to sew an apron!

Welcome to the forum Georgiann! It doesn't sound sappy at all! Lots of us have felt a bit displaced in our own lives and time until we found MaryJane! I certainly did!

lets see, best thing for me that happened this weekend, was that I got to spend some nice quiet time with my DH. The babies went down at an actually early hour and stayed asleep all night. How nice to be able to snuggle in and just spend quiet time together. hugs jess
