There's a garlic festival in town tomorrow. I want to be gutsy enough to try the garlic ice cream.

Today I'm going to go hang out at my local yarn shop, as today will be the last day it's open :( Tomorrow we have church in the morning. Don't know what the rest of the weekend holds, as my hubby is awaiting the birth of kittens from a cat we rescued that now lives in his office.

ohhhhhh GARLIC ice cream! i would TRY that! about the only thing that won't cross my lips even in a 'trial taste test' would be something that at one time 'had a face' or 'breathed' at one time or other (such as SNAKE or EEL or DOG!)
do tell us what you think of it!
i bought a wonderful string of garlic from a friend yesterday .. hung it in my kitchen .. ha! wonder if it will ward off 'evil spirits' in addition to being yummy!
ohhh melanie .. a RODEO .. haven't been to one of those in such a long time! i remember the 'wild west' ones when we lived in Colorado! have fun and be sure to tell us all about it!
diana .. sorry to hear your local yarn shop is closing .. but hope you get lotsa' great 'sale' yarns! let us know when those kitties arrive! in his OFFICE! how dear!

melanie .. when i hit the bed at 3:30 a.m. last night .. i had NO IDEA what i would do today .. and when i popped out of bed at 9:30 a.m. .. YEP! got in a good SIX hours despite the late night! .. well, there was an e-mail from miz luna wantin' to go to Cathy Cobblestone's for some wonderful autumn stuff ... with me today and to hit the antiques shoppe in Greensburg where i have my booth. I e-mailed her back that i'm dressed and READY to Rock and Roll! There are some other places i'd like to take her too that i don't believe she has been to yet! 'nuther fun day of hittin' the road!
TOMORROW at 6 a.m. .. i take honey hunk up to louiville to catch a plane to maryland .. he's going for a week-long sailing trip on the Chesapeake Bay with my .. yep! EX-honey hunk husband! THEN .. luna told me about a fun shoppe she found yesterday in Louisville that i will try to find .. THEN .. i'm going to roam to kathy sugarbucket's (and my new friend's) house and pick up two GREAT benches i bought yesterday on our antiquin' foray! THEN .. i'm going to E-town to pick up FANCY NANCY and some of her books if i can find them! THEN .. maybe roam over to Luna's to see all the work she has had done on her house and some of her new ANTIQUES she has gotten lately .. THEN .. maybe hit another antiquin' town before i head home with a big smile on my face!

You know, I've heard of garlic icecream, and even thought of trying it when I was at the Gilroy,CA festival, but I chickened out. I've heard good things about it though, and wish now that I'd been braver. Let me know what you think, and try to get a recipe! :)
Sounds like there's lots going on this weekend. Hope it all goes well.
As for me, this is the last weekend before school starts, so it's my big end-of-summer final hoorah. Started off great, at the Grand Openning of MaryJane's store in CdA. What a treat! Thinking back over that fabulous day will keep me smiling and inspired for a long time.
The rest of the weekend is going to be filled with more practical fare...farmwork. Lots to do to prepare for my new horse, due to arrive in Oct. But, it's gratifying work, done outside, with the family, and I know we'll enjoy the results for years to come. (fencing and building a horse shelter). Beautiful weather for it too...sunshine with a light breeze. Birds and fall coming. Life is so darn good, just got to smile.

Well, we were supposed to go buy the trim for the new addition, only been waiting almost a year. But instead Dh went on a service adventure down south to evacuate people because of the hurricanes. He's gone for at least two weeks. So me... I am on duty this weekend. But I think I am going to pull up the carpet on the stairs. It just smells yukky to me, or maybe its something up my nose. I am going to write myself a note to feed the dogs or they will end up starving to death before Dh gets home. I think I will make some banana bread and zucchini bread. Nothing fancy going on this weekend around here.

the string of garlic will ward off "evil spirits" cause I have had one hanging in my kitchen for several years and we have never had an evil spirit in our home!! ;).......having another couple for dinner tonight so going to go and pick up some fresh veggies for the one pot Salmon and veggie meal I am making (it is a yum dish made with wine and blackened seasoning on the salmon)! and pick up some fresh baked bread at one of the bakeries and............ stop by a fabric store that is having an all weekend sale!....and take my two Bassets for a long walk.
Sailing is something my Honey would LOVE to be doing more of.....used to do lots more sailing when we lived in cities with MORE WATER!!! Now he does try to get to one of the lakes that is not toooooooo far (not to close either!!)and do some kayaking at least! when Dave FINALLY decides to "retire" he'll be able take off to more WATER places!!!

Hubby is working today. He left at 6:15 this morning and I won't see him until 7 tonight. :( Sooo, I am digging in and cleaning up my craft room. It's a must-do that I have put off for far too long. I've already cleaned the hen house, gotten in an hour of exercise, done 2 loads of laundry and dusted. Hopefully, I will ahev everything done so that, on Monday, we can all play and not have to worry about anything but fun!!
I think I would rather have Frannie's weekend though. :)

angie .. how wonderful of your dear husband!!! i always find that when the 'manfolk' has a trip somewhere's for a few days .. i accomplish MUCH!

hank had just bought a HUGE sailboat before we found these kentucky cabins .. NO lake down here big enuff with enuff wind! i keep telling him that instead of going on FREEZING adventures (Mt. Everest and Antarctica) .. he should head for the high seas! It's on his LIST! xoxo

This weekend Lauren and I worked at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival on Saturday, went back for more on Sunday to strictly play. Today we slept in late, finished up school shopping and had dinner with my folks.
A good weekend!
