Joy,

I got pretty excited about it too! What fun to have a usable, green product that can also be so beautiful!

Theresa, I just checked out the 35-free-patterns link. What a find! Too much to go through now. Gotta get off this thing and get some work done. Can it really be after 9am? I signed on around 6. I know I've only been on here 20 minutes - a half hour at the most. This clock must be wrong! hehehe

God bless -
Karen

I would like to join in to this one too. Does it have to have a flat bottom or can it be more of a tote?

Jenn,

A flat bottom certainly isn't necessary (and Thank God for that, or a lot of us Farmgirls would be in trouble! LOL!) You usually can't fit as many items in a straight bottomed tote and softer things might tend to get squished. However, it's certainly fine to make one however you'd like. There are some links for free patterns on page 2 of this topic, you could take a look at them. I actually found that making the gussets was super easy.

Thank-You Beverley! I just recieved my bag and it is wonderful! Very useful and pretty to boot. I love it and can't quit showing it to everyone who has stopped by today. Everyone loves the fact that it is in the shape of the plastic ones. I have already sent my bag to Melanie in Canada but I think I might try making some of these in the plastic bag shape.Good job Beverley! Thanks again.

My bag is FINISHED!! I just need to hear from britchickny aka Angie. I would like to get it in the mail but need an address. Thanks for this fun project, I had mine finished in no time. I fashioned it after the type you buy at Wal Mart, I think for making my own pattern it turned out nice, minus a couple of stitching flaws (thread kept breaking),I plan to make my MIL one next.
