I just saw a commercial for a health insurance company that caters to self-employed and those who can't afford or aren't offered health insurance through their employers. I know nothing about the company, but I did enter our information to see what the rates were like and they seem really reasonable- about comparable to what Doug and I pay out of Doug's paycheck at Wells Fargo, but I think that was just for medical, not for Medical, Dental and Vision. So anyway- you might want to check into the company. It might be an option for you.
If you're self-employed also check out the National Association of the Self-Employed. They have a website http://www.nase.org/ Our insurance is through them. They have somebody local contact you, if I remember right.
