hi teresa sue ... honey man and i are thinking of a conjuring up a fun trip to visit his olde rugby buddies in moscow .. gosh .. time flies .. it seems a LONG time since we were last there!!! i'll see if i can talk him into visiting during the farm fest in july ... i'll have to check on those dates .. i forget when it is.
if you ever take a hankerin' to visit your 'ancestors' settlin' place .. i do hope you will come spend some nights here at freedom valley!!! i can't much cook worth crap .. (interpretation: don't usually wanna'!) .... but i sure can show you some FUN! xo

gurlz .. be sure to check out the 'treehouse' pictures under my FRANNIEVILLE postings!
will you all be bringing COTS .. or just sleeping bags? (you'll need your favorites pillow and sleeping bag even if you don't bring a cot).
and remember if we have reeeeeeeeely BAD or FREEZING weather .. we will jus' all snuggle (and i do mean SNUGGLE) in these little cabins!
(homey don't camp out in lightening storms .. HA! especially not under a TIN roof and under TREES!)

Frannie- I would be honored to be the Apron Momma. I can take pics as well for you, because I know you will be busy. I'm getting an extra battery and memory card so that I will have all my bases covered. :) I cannot wait for October to get here. Talk about wishing my life away. Ha! But it is for such a good reason. The week after I get home from yours, the whole family is heading to Missouri for Nathan's Army basic training graduation. Two trips in two weeks!! YAY!

oh thank you karin .. i do have a tendency to get 'caught up in all the 'fun'' and some things jus' slip through my fingers!
we, too, have another trip coming up NEXT week .. heading for the beach in North Carolina for a few days. sooooo much to do here! did you peek at the 'tree house' in my 'frannieville' posting? just a ROOF and RAILINGS to go!

GURLZ ... i am so hoping and praying that my thyroid surgery won't affect the date of our gathering .. i won't know until after i speak to my doctor and know WHEN it is scheduled .. and the 'recovery time' i will need. i will surely keep you all informed!

hey .. how many of you will be bringing COTS to sleep on? there will be a tad less room with COTS .. BUT .. i think you might be more comfy! (unless you don't mind jus' your sleeping bag .. but at least you won't have to sleep ON THE GROUND!) i sure hope the weather isn't tooooooooo COLD .. do bring some extra blankets and your 'pillow' too!

Frannie- Dayna and I are bringing air beds with us. :) We are also bringing a tent because there are so many girls coming, we thought it might be tight. I have a two room tent that I have never slept in and I think it is about time I did. lol Everyone else in the family has but me. I am not much of a camping kind of girl, but this is not really camping. At least that is what I'm telling myself. ha ha

karin .. that is a GREAT idea .. i think i'll mention it to the other gurlz too .. in case they want a 'tad' more privacy! there is LOTS of room to find a little secret spot .. or to set up near the cabins or treehouse! xo

hey .. i jus' THUNK of something else to tell ya'll bout!
when you drive down the hill into our little 'holler' .. the 'paved road ENDS' at the TOP of the hill ...
STAY on the ROAD .. don't ride the RIGHT side of the road (coming down) .. which is the LEFT side (going up) .. CUZ' . .there is a deep 'gully' hidden in that tall grass .. and ef'fen you fall in it .. you might have to LIVE here! honey man will not be here .. and i have NO idea how to pull a car out of a gully!!
i'm going to get some 'straw bales' to put along that side of the road as a reminder. (when maryjane visited .. a lady DID indeed go into the gully .. and luckily we had some strong 'menfolk' that were able to get her out. I, myself, fell into it on Christmas Eve the first year i moved here.
it is the 'drain path' for rain .. from the top of the hill into the woods .. so we can't really fill it in.
AND ... parking is going to be a bit of a challenge too with all the cars that will be arriving. there is a hillside across the road .. where everyone will have to park (road dead ends in front of the cabins) .. if you park ON the road .. no one will be able to get back up the hill. whenever you arrive .. park as far BACK (in the grass) as you can .. later 'arrivers' will simply park in front of that car and so on and so on.

hey gurlz .. i'm on my way to the doc this morning to set a date for this 'operation thingie' .. but i'm still sooo hoping we can still have our gathering on it's original dates! (oh .. remember a prayer for me this morning too!)
soooooooo .. to keep my spirits up .. i've been doin' some more fun planning and thinkin' about fun things to do!
o.k. .. new decision: i sooooooooo want everyone to see my wonderful little home-town of GREENSBURG .. and our Olde historic Courthouse .. and town gardens .. and olde footbridge ... and of course, GLOVERS STATION .. our town antiques shoppe!
sooooooooooo ... we're gonna' get an 'early start' .. and MEET AT GLOVERS' STATION at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11. Then i'll get someone to meet us across the street at the Courthouse for a little 'tour-ette' and a quick walk-about on 'the town square'.
Actually, this will be the best place to meet .. cuz' a coupla' the gurlz are staying at the cabins in town .. and several more pass through town on the way to my place .. and it is a tad easier to 'find' for those who have never visited Freedom Valley. (when heading back to kathy's ... we will do a teensy bit of back-tracking .. but hey! gurlz don't ever mind taking little detours in life!)
SO REMEMBER .. even though Green County is on SLOW (central) time ... our whole fun gathering is ALL going to be planned on FAST (eastern) time. i'll ask one of the girls at glovers to come in early for us to open up .. they are such sweeties and i jus' know that they will be pleased to do so.
I'm hoping we will be heading back up the road to Kathy's by 11:00 a.m. .. we DO pass freedom valley on the way .. sooo .. we'll probably just drop a few cars off at our place and car-pool to kathy and luna's!
NOW REMEMBER to bring those 'trunks' full of goodies to sell and swap!
ohhh .. i've conjured up some fun games for us too .. Pumpkin Bowling ... Fryin' Pan Fling .. and Egg Toss (so far!) .. and i have a buncha' COOKBOOKS the winners can choose from as their prizes!
