Diana...thank you! I will definitely do the first one first and try and "catch up" since I think it will build my skills and my confidence in the knitting arena. I crochet but would like to learn to knit also. Thank you for the encouragement else I don't think I would have tried it. I'm sick today but maybe tomorrow I can go and get supplies (about 45 minutes to the nearest place...Walmart).

FINALLY!!!! Here are my dish cloths. I've been trying to get them finished but my tendonitis (from clearing fence row in KY about a month back) has been nasty! By the end of the day, I just want to encase my whole arm in the freezer.... regardless, here they are!

How georgeous! You did a great job. I love the colors!!

I am stubborn about this knit design that I want to finish 3, or at least the doll shawl out of 2 of them, because I want to memorize the pattern.

I have tendonitis I think now...probably from the computer mouse! :-D
I crochet alot but taking a break because of this pain. It's sore all day and I don't want to use my hand or arm because it hurts. I don't want to even hear the nasty word "surgery" from my Dr. so won't tell her. :-D
What do you do for it? I have ibuprophin in large dose that I think could help it. Do you take anything? Does the ice or coolness help?

I loved this... I think that a dishtowel is just right. Please let me know when the next pattern is posted.

Warmly,

I went to Wally World yesterday and got my supplies! I got a little kit that had a pamplet with the stitches and a pair of "short" #8 knitting needles...I hope they will work. I'm sure I would need larger ones for a bigger project but these looked like they would be easier for me at first. I am going to start today but my printer is not hooked up on my new pc so I may have to hand-copy the instructions but I am EXCITED! Thank you Starmeadow..."T"!

Very pretty Starmeadow! Thanks for sharing the pics with us!

Linda-I'm kind of the same way. If I find a pattern for something I like I'll make a bunch so I have the pattern memorized.

Debi-Glad that you joined us for this KAL! I'll be posting a new pattern soon. Actually, I'm trying to find a good chicken pattern dishcloth right now.

Sandra-Yay! Can't wait to see your finished project!

This is my go-too pattern for when I want to knit but don't want to think. I suppose I could get to work on some of my "second" socks <lol> but I'm up for trying another "something".

Linda, meet me over in "health" and we can talk "cures" for this owie we seem to have...

Oh, wow! I was told I needed to come check this KAL out and I'm so glad I did - such pretty washcloths! Knitting dishcloths is a hobby of mine ... as someone else said, a nice thing to knit when you don't want to think

I've never knit a round washcloth or dishcloth before, tho' so I think I'll have to hop in (better late than never, eh?) and give this one a try!

I have a few things to finish up that are on the needles ... but I'll dig through my yarn stash tonight and see what pretty cotton yarns I've got that need a purpose

You all have posted some really beautiful finished objects!

Best Wishes,
Kara

PS - I'm rockin_ granola on Ravelry, too

Welcome Kara! Can't wait to see your finished product!

Gals I haven't forgotten about posting a new pattern. I wanted to find a chicken pattern dishcloth and haven't had any luck other than skinny or non chicken looking chicken ones.

I may just post another pattern and then continue the chicken pattern quest.

Kelly-LOL! Is it the Rodney Rooster pattern that you have? I've seen that one and it's really cute. Too bad nobody has a nice fat Henrietta Hen one to match it....but I'm going to keep searching.

Maybe we can do the Rodney Rooster pattern after the one I just posted :)

I hope there's no end date as I haven't even started mine yet! I've got another project that I'm using the needles for. As soon as that's done I can start.

There's no end date for the KAL as I didn't want folks to feel pressured to complete the projects. When you finish this one, post a pic for all of us to ooooh and aaaah over, and then if you desire you can move onto the next pattern that I posted the other day :)

I started today with the 1st one. Not hard at all, just a little countwork :)
My kitten LOVES me knitting, hehe. I gave him his own wool but he still likes my bigger one better, silly cat :D

Yarnmamma...do you know how to knit? The round pattern feels hard because of all the "turn arounds" but really once you get the hang of it... Anyway, have you tried just a simple square wash cloth? Here's an easy one. I knitted mine up to 50 stitches before decreasing.

Remember to knit loose. I find knitting two together gets harder w/cotton yarn. LMK how you are doing!

DIRECTIONS
Cast on 4 sts.
Row 1: Knit one row.
Row 2: K2, YO, knit to the end of the row.
Repeat row 2 until there are 40 sts (for dish scrubber) or 50 sts (for face
cloth).
Next row: K1, K2tog, YO, K2tog, knit to the end of the row.
Continue decreasing until 4 sts left. Cast off.

Thanks! I love it! I think I'll chart mine before I start. I am knitting 5 gnomes as my olympic knitting challenge. One down, 4 to go! I'll fit this project in somehow!!
