oh my what wonderful inspiration Maryjane's OUTPOST book is! i ADORED the 'story tree' .. and jus' had to do a cute one for all the little ones in my life. (i'll take some of it in when we have rainy weather .. but it will be nearby to re-create when the chilluns come to visit!
how adorable is this!!!!
i walked about until i had the 'perfect' tree .. and chose the 'peach tree' .. which nestles close to our plum tree .. lots of nice shade there.
key to the SECRET GARDEN (this has hung from this tree from the first day i moved to Freedom Valley Farm. it came from our Secret Garden at Crooked Tree Hollow, in Maryland.
this is ERNEST (named after one of my uncles on my daddy's side of the family) .. he has a twin brother named OTIS .. named after my Uncle "O" .. married to my daddy's sister.
both have been livin' in heaven a long time now. (i often name dollies and critters that live with me after family members)
oh .. that's MOTHER GOOSE peeking over his shoulder. i have a sweet litle collectin of children's FARM books .. and TWO of those big fluffy pillows (they are actually 'dog beds' .. but i kept them for kids to 'lay-about' on instead!)
the cowboys and farmboys are welcome to come for a story too!
those are grandson, lucas' boots! he outgrew them and they were in the 'goodwill pile'. i snitched them .. brought them home .. and will save them for his own future little farm boy or farm girl!
i have had SUCH fun with this .. and can see doing several 'STORY TREES' .. prissy ones .. farm ones .. jus' GAME ones .. tea party trees .. ohhh .. the ideas are endless.
THANK YOU SWEET MARY JANE FOR PROVIDING US WITH YOUR DELIGHTFUL BOOKS OVERFLOWING WITH WONDEROUS IDEAS. YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL! WE THANK YOU FROM THE FULLNESS OF OUR HEARTS .. AND WE LOVE YOU DEARLY! XO, FRANNIE
thanks cheryl .. now all i gotta' do is round up some chilluns .. there are two darling little girls up over the top of the hill that i've kinda' 'adopted' .. i think i'll amble up there tomorrow afternoon to invite them to 'stories' and tea!
gosh .. since i'm taking down so much stuff while getting the house painted .. i'm jus' kinda' piling it here and there .. it's been fun rummaging and choosing things to make little 'OUTDOOR' vignettes with. i hope to someday get the schoolhouse all 'organized' .. that way .. i can KEEP lots of treasures but don't have to have them all 'decorating' the cabins .. i can just use it as an attractive 'storehouse' and have access to wonderfuls when i want to create something.
oh marly .. i'm so happy i took those little boots out of the 'goodwill pile'. i did the same thing with a teeeeeensy little bright pink and yellow pair of tennis shoes that we got for sofia while in Amsterdam. (of course, they will get an extra use with her little sister, iszabel .. THEN . i will bring them back here again to save forever!
i have so many little things like this that i saved from my own daughters' childhood years.
