view from t'other side of the yard the 'brown patch' in the lawn is where we pulled up that huge bush! baby grasslings are starting to peek their little heads through the earth.
a little closer
i thnk the right side 'setting' is a tad too 'prissy' for me .. still want to find that olde school desk .. then i have a wonderfully prim rocking chair to replace the black 'potty chair' with. (but isn't that a great chair .. it really did serve as a 'necessary' way back when!
by NOON it is all shady on the porch ... ready for ///
a pitcher of iced tea and a good gardening book!
since this is the SCHOOLHOUSE (and will soon have a sign!) .. i hung an antique 'blackboard'.
a 'crow' sits vigil and a few black-eyed susan's from my garden.
thanks miss marcy .. come 'set a spell' ... i have some fun 'schoolhouse' antiques .. might put them out from time to time .. but i'm afraid they'd get 'weathered' here in humid kentucky! xo
Wow that was fast work, and youve already decorated. Everything looks great, even the tea looks yummy, now Im thristy so Ive gotta go get me some tea! Thanks for sharing you pics with us. karen
oh samantha .. i can hardly wait to get more 'school' stuff on there. i have been looking FOREVER for a big school bell to go on the 'roof' . but i think i'm just going to find a wonderful one to hang on the wall beside the door to 'call kids in from recess'. this building was never, of course, a 'schoolhouse' .. when we first moved here .. it was painted WHITE .. looked like a big white elephant in this environment .. i called the 'the church' back then. when we painted it red .. i started calling it the 'schoolhouse'. wouldn't it be fun to set it up as such inside! but i have 'guest house' and 'antiques shoppe' plans for it .. might put some of my more 'fragile' vintage school items in there to 'decorate' with though.
