I think my boy's names are the bomb! I've always loved old-fashioned and "strong" names for boys so my two are Jacob Benjamin and Joseph Charles. If we ever have another I want William David. (The Benjamin in Jacob's name is my husband's name and the Charles in Joseph's name is after my late father-in-law. The David would be for my father.) -Elizabeth |

I like Noah, Levi and Andrew...and my two "homemade boys" (the only ones I got to pick names for are Corey and Casey. I love my adopted boy's names too. (I got very lucky with adopting all these kids and being lucky to get great names!!) Justin, Travis and Dalton. We did change their middle names at adoption time. I have always like my dad's name Dean. (it was actually his middle name but he always went by that..and my Casey has that for his middle name too) I like that name Garrett too.

Congratulations, Melanie!!! You have a baby growing in your heart!!! My son's name is Adam. We chose it because it's simple and short (we have a longer last name) and he is our "first man" afterall... My husband and I had both worked with kids for years, so picking a name was tough. We both had specific memories to certain names, not always good ones either. Our daughter is adopted and came with a name. Eventhough she was just a month old, we didn't feel we could take it from her. Her name is Amanda. I always said I'd never name my kids with the same first letter, but fate did it for us. Congratulations again and have a wonderful time of preparation; you'll be in my prayers. Sharon

Congrats to you and your hubby!!!! I am so happy for you and will be praying that all goes well! Since you love Anne so much and we all had fun with your generous drawings maybe you could revisit her books and see if any male names pop out of there that you both like? You could name him Prince Edward! Tee Hee! He will be a prince with you as parents! There is nothing better than seeing people you care about so happy...it warms my heart! Keep us all informed! I have several grandsons...Chandler Gage, Samuel Whitney, and the newest born July 6th is Uriah Benjamin! There's few names for starters just to get the ball rolling...you'll come up with a great name and after they are born you won't be able to imagine them being named anything else. Love ya!

If our girl had been a boy, he would have been either Matthew Stewart or Adam Forest. Forest was my daddy's name. I would still use those today. And we chose them 30 years ago. I know you will find one that just seems right.

oh my favourite farmgal friends....I am sitting here reading all of your posts crying my eyes out. I can't believe how totally blessed I am. I have a great husband and now i have great friends. All of you! I was speaking to my minister today and she said that we shouldn't be telling anyone yet "just in case" as she doesn't want us to be disapointed if it doesn't happen. Well, I have faith....I have faith that God has a plan for us and whatever that plan is, I will accept it. For now, I want to enjoy being excited for the possibility of having a little baby boy to love. Sharon (sleepless reader) I LOVE what you said about a "baby growing in your hearts" that is what started me crying (good tears of course!!) Tina, I would love to know the translations of those names please. Thanks all of you....you don't even know how much your words mean to me.

Happy, Happy Day Melanie! So glad you will be getting a baby soon! And you know what? Many couples who've tried for YEARS to have a baby of their own, and CAN'T for some reason, usually DO end up having a biological child of their own after adopting!
So... you better pick out more than ONE name! 'Cause.. remember what happened to Sarah? and she was an OLD woman! But God didn't forget her and he gave her a child of her own when she least expected one. He just might do the same for YOU!
Oh, there are soooo many names to choose from! I remember when I was expecting my first son (I have 3 boys, but I only named the FIRST one-- hubby named the other 2) Everyone said I was having a girl, but I knew-- in my heart of hearts-- that my baby was a BOY! I named him "Daques Michael." (pronounced "DAX." "Michael" is my husband's middle name) I wanted my son to have a DIFFERENT name than all the other little boys out there... and he SURE did! I got a phone call his first day at Kindergarten and it was the teacher asking how to pronounce his name. He was the only kid in the school ever to be called "Mr...." until she knew how to say it correctly. It was VERY funny! Hugs and blessings to you and your husband ~~ Tracy

I'm starting to get a wee bit nervous....about a couple of things....what if I don't love this baby? and what if she changes her mind? I just keep praying and trying to have faith that the best will be. It is still hard.

Melanie- You will love the baby, don't fret too much about that! Your maternal instinct will kick in the second you hold him in your arms. Your brain knows he will be yours and that will be enough for your instincts. I will be sending good thoughts your way!
