Hello there, I am new here. I'm 32, a high school teacher (English and German) and I live in a small village in rural Germany. (Saarland area, close to France and Luxemburg) I am single but live with my parents and grandparents. I have a tiny garden for herbs and some vegetables in containers and I keep chickens and pet goats (no milk or fiber or anything, just love!). I love to cook and bake and I am an avid reader and knitter.
I am very excited to have found so many kindred spirits here and I hope that farmgirls from overseas can join the sisterhood too! :)
Greetings, Nadine

Howdy and welcome from Texas Nadine! It's nice to see a farmgirl from Germany. You have a beautiful country -one of my little nieces is over your way now at one of the universities for the summer. She is sending me wonderful pictures.
I'm so glad you found the forum and can share your adventures with us. I think you're going to love it here and I know you'll fit right in.

Hello Nadine! I love Germany, for reasons that my sister-friend Gabi is there! She lives in Leverkusen, but is in the Faroes right now for summer holiday..(yeah, I know...the Faroes)! Interesting how just being a farmgirl brings all types of women to one place!!! Can't wait to hear about life in my second homeland!

Hi Nadine!!! Welcome, Welcome! So glad you found us...can't wait to learn more about your village (sounds wonderful!!)...if you think of it, post some photos. I've never been to Germany, but have always heard wonderful things about it, and you live in a pretty part for sure.

Again, welcome, from this Kentucky girl!

A big, big thank you to all of your for your lovely welcome! I know I will enjoy being here and getting to know all of you! :) There will be photos of course, as soon as I can figure out how to either put them here or maybe putting them on my blog will be easier? Anyway, to get you started, you can see some pictures of the valley where I live here: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7834/2816/1600/k%3F%3Frprich%20collage.jpg
(the chickens and goats live next to each other but the photo was from before we got the goats!)

I hope this works! Let me know if not- you can also see the pictures if you check my blog for the archives: http://nadsknittingblog.blogspot.com/2006/10/yesterday-was-beautiful-fall-day-and.html

Welcome Nadine from the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. I am a retired (7 years now) elementary teacher. I always loved it, but have been too busy to miss it much. There is sooooo much to do. I enjoy chatting with the girls on this forum. You will too.

Welcome Nadine! I loved your website and all of your gorgeous pictures. You truly live in a postcard world! We have a dear friend who is originally from Berlin and my sister lived in Stuttgart back in the early 80's for 3 years. She loved it there.

You'll find lots of shared interests here, support and information. Keep your pictures coming!

Howdy and Welcome from SW Idaho!! This is great, farmgirls from around the world! My son has been stationed twice in Germany (at Baumholden) but currently is deployed. I also have ancestors that came from Germany. My ex's grandmother actually inherited a castle from over there somewhere! (We went our separate ways, so I never did hear where it was.)This is a great place to spend time and a lot of neat ladies. I have only been a member for a short time but I definitely feel right at home!

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!
