I know of no old ladies here.....just wonderful gems of femininity! If hubby were closer to you, I know he would help at a cook-out for sure. I volunteer him all the time :)

I just got back from the wedding. It poured the rain going down but just in time for the wedding, the sun shown and the clouds went away. It was a beautiful day indeed. I'm worn out as I took photos and then we went over to Wilma's house for a little bit. I cannot believe how much stuff she has sold since the last time I was there. She was stacked high with antique goodies, but now two rooms are empty out of the antique house.

Jonni - I did get a photo of the butterfly bush with a beautiful yellow butterfly. I thought of you and had to giggle...I went 'dang it, the girls were just here last week!'

My grandma has been canning and I took a couple of photos of her beautiful canned peaches straight out of the orchard. I told her they need to be entered in the county fair!

I did get to see the new magazine briefly and the new outpost book. I love the dress that Mary Jane is wearing. I saw some familiar names listed in the magazine as well. Now if only my local bookstore can get the magazine in soon!

I'm off to bed myself....will post photos when I get the chance.

I finally got the chance to sit down and go through photos. I won't post any wedding photos yet as I'm working on them and the bride hasn't seen them yet. However, here are a few photos of Miss Wilma's beautiful gardens and one of my grandma's fresh out of the cooker canned peaches:

One of many statues in the "secret garden":

Butterfly Bush (there were several butterflies on it flying around):

Peach cobbler sounds pretty good!

Jonni - it rained all day up until it was time for the wedding. It rained all the way down there and I got home just in time for another storm, however the sun was bright and the clouds broke apart for the ceremony and afterwards with the reception. I was glad to get some photos outside as well.

I've got to run to an interview in a few. I must show you the delicious cake that one of Wilma's friends daughter made. That sucker was mighty delicious. They surprised Brian with a fish cake for him. That was really neat with a lot of details in it. I'll post up photos when I get back.

Oh, before I forget, while its on my mind, be thinking of some good dates in October to meet up. It looks like September is busy for everyone in our crew with it being harvest season, back to school time, and everything else. I haven't peeked at my calendar yet. Wilma and I were talking the other night of what you gals talked about during the 4th of July gathering. We definitely should meet up again. :)

Looking forward to the photos of the cake! I love a pretty (and delicious) cake! Very cute, too, about the fish cake. Hope you took some photos of that one, also :)

September is just crazy busy for us, and I know of only one October date that I won't be able to attend (Justin has his local modelling show) and I'm REALLY crossing fingers that it's not on the weekend we pick. I'll find out from him tonight what date it is....but yes, we talked about lots of fun things over that weekend, and can't wait to see them ALL come to fruition :)

Have a good interview!

October sounds great for our next gathering! The only day that's bad for me is Friday, the 10th. My son gets married that day(night). Carol Sue and Ronna - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you two can come. That would be so fantastic!!! :D

Oh gosh, that sounds like a grand ole plan Wilma!

Carol Sue - you get your tushie on a plane and fly right on over here. Nashville is actually cheaper to fly to than Lexington or Louisville and it's closer. Plus, heck you might see yourself a country music star while at the airport! ;-)

Jonni - Interview was short and sweet. It's getting a little rough finding something. I called 6 temp agencies this morning and not one had an opening for anything clerical or management - not even a temp position. I did a spreadsheet last night of just the last month and I've applied for 100+ jobs, have had about 15 interviews, some of them 2nd and 3rd. I'm so ready to work that any minute I'm awake, I'm job hunting.

Janice - Wilma's daylily garden of some of your daylilies was a delight to see. It could be a little farmgirl friendship garden with flowers from fellow farmgirls.

Well girls, I'm heading to town to get stuff done. Wilma has got me craving some strawberry jam and warm biscuits now!

Woohoo! Thanks Wilma.

Ok, so I looked on my calendar. My only "bad" weekend would be the 17-19th of October because I have to go to a meeting that weekend for our county fair and take photos of a pageant. October is my favorite time of year with the cool yet warm weather, the colors of the leaves, and much more.

Maybe we can have the Custer Family to come and entertain us too since I missed it this last time around.

Hmm...maybe we can all bring our favorite "craft" thing or something that represents who we are. Even better - favorite dish! :-p

Frannie what makes it special here is the wonderful people that join us in just a great big family way, No one seemed to notice I didnt get all the dusting done or I dont have doors on the lavatory, Or all the silly things I dont do right we just enjoyed having everyone and they seemed to like being here so that is all that matters, Heres hoping you can make it in Oct.
