Wilma, Your Momma and Daddy look like people that are good to know. My mom, grandma and granpa could have sat right down with them and hit it off, I bet. You are so lucky, Miss Wilma, to still have your parents. The photos are so descriptive and lovely - good job Jonni!!! I can almost hear the music. I have really been looking forward to seeing some pics of the week-end, and the weather sure looked pretty, too. Love the preacher story. :)

Yes girls that is my mom and dad talking to the little boy, my dad hasnt quit talking about him since he left, now they havent quit working either, we have done two and a half bushels of apples and canned 42 qts of beans since Sunday, To get her off of her feet I got her setting in a chair and told her I needed some embrodiery done, she thinks she has to work all the time, now Pappy is sending me to pick those little peaches off because he wants some canned with the seeds in them, Now I might be 63 years old but I still Kinda mind my parents Ha

I am already getting excited and have been working all day in the sewing house so I dont have to be ashamed of it, I am going to start a little pile that some of you might can use I dont like to throw away sewing things. Got a big doll order today but dont have to have it done before Nov, and we will put the shower in the sewing house so that will help out to.Hpoefully will have the cabin done by then to., After this week I have some more time in between corn to get some more cleaning done in the sewing house to where if we have to we could use blow up mattresses, I hope I can be more organizied but dont count on that if not just take me as I am, I really did have a good time and hope everyone will be back. Janice I have planted tomatoes where the stump was, And Jonnie we will manage the Thingee in a good way. Laura we will not do with out you next time

Miss Wilma, if I can can come next time, I hope it will be alright. I promise not to make a fuss and help out. Now don't work too hard. If you decide to do this again, I wll help pitch in too. Love all your nice lawn chairs in the photos that everyone had to sit in. Not fussy, just comfy. Jusr seeing on this site what you did is really enough for me.

Miss Wilma,
You look a lot like your Daddy, that's why I asked. Love those country get togethers. The couple of times I went to the TN Homecoming in Norris at John Rice Irwin's place, I really enjoyed everything. Vendors were invitation only and my sisters husband made barnwood picture frames to sell. His father was a preacher and friends with Mr Irwin, so he didn't have to wait years to be accepted. How can anyone not be happy with bluegrass music being played? Love it.

Fried apple pies????? OH, NO! And I'm so far away!!!!! I LOVE those! There used to be a place here where the owner's mom made them, but she didn't sell enough, so she quit. :(

Wilma - I have always liked things better when there is no fuss, and if there is a little dust or mess, it makes folks feel better. My mom never made a fuss.....but she got nervous because she thought others might think she should have fancy stuff.....but it is the people that count. Right?

i'm just getting to checking out the farmgirls again and i wanna tell you that I could live at Wilma's too without blinking. The cooking was great including the pies (thanks Jonnie), We came empty handed not thinking about food and just dove right in to the country cooking. I missed Dave in the kitchen with the ladies, though! My Alan who is a wonderful cook too, so maybe we can get a guys cooking for the farm girls party going sometime).

The orchard was just beautiful and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the secret garden...all the gardens were beautiful. Alan went around taking pictures. If I can get them off his camera, I'll post some (well, it may have to be on my blog cause that photobucket is still giving me fits!).
