Kelly, please buy yourself some pectin and look inside the box. There should be all sorts of recipes in there. If not, use the Ball Blue Book. I found one!! You didn't say what type of plums you had.
PLUM JAM 4 lbs plums 3/4 cup water 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 package powdered pectin 7 cups sugar
Pit and chop plums (about 6 cups chopped) Combine chopped plums, water, lemon juice, and pectin in a large saucepot. Bring to a full boil over high heat, stirring frequently. Add sugar and return to a full rolling boil. Boil hard one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and skim foam. (A pat of butter may keep the foam down) Pour, hot, into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space. Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath. Adjust caps. Yield about 8 half pints.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Betty, I actually bought the Ball blue book and followed the recipe, Made it today and stole a taste, it is so good! I am proud of myself for making my first batch of jelly (or anything canned) we'll see tomorrow how it tastes!
