Welcome back Alee - I hope you get some time to regroup, it sounds like the rose garden might be just the thing. I love living in houses with old gardens and helping them come back to life...Hope it's not too hot over your way Happy settling!! Amy Grace

I love my abandoned roses. As I was trimming them back and weeding around them and such (still a long way to go on that!) I kept thinking that this was my own version of "The Secret Garden". It might not have a wall around it or a romantic story behind it, but I can imagine that at one time this house, these roses, this garden were someone's pride and joy. I can imagine some woman out there in dress or stylish slacks planting and weeding her garden, tending her roses. I can almost feel her sadness in their current condition and as I pull the horrible weeds and get things straightened out I can almost feel her sharing her joy with me. There aren't any pesticides in the ground as far as I can see. The dirt is alive with all sorts of bugs. I have pretty high hopes for my garden to come back to life this year :D I hope the little roses will start blooming again.

Welcome back Alee, Now you and little miss nora need to enjoy that sun porch,,,take pic's for us. Oh and talk to your roses, tell them how special they are and be sure to till in some banana peels, crushed egg shells and some used coffee grinds in the soil beneath the roses...this concoction did wonders for my roses. hugz

LOL My mom got some one moving in day that had carpet on our front lawn and boxes and junk from the rental people :( Supposedly they are going to put new siding on the front this summer so it will get prettied up at least facing the street! LOL
I have to send the nice camera in to get repaired and so I will wait for a sunny day for the back up camera (when it works best) and try to get some photos for ya'll :D

I really like the size of the house too! Just the right size so there is _almost_ a place for everything (Who forgot the linen closet?!) And the housework is manageable. It might be a while before the boxes are unpacked so I can feel okay taking pictures! LOL

You're in Billings?? I'm sorry I don't have time to read all the posts, just got thru the first page... I go thru Billings on average of 3 times a month! I was just there late last week! Wonder if we passed each other on I-90...hehehe...
Anyway, I'm glad you're doing well and I'll get back to you, must get on the road! Send me an email if you'd like to meet up sometime!
PS I was in Billings and missed the turnoff for the Billings Horse Sale. I saw it too late and hubby didn't want to turn around (HE was in a hurry...not me! There were horses to be looked at!).

Thanks All!
The move is thankfully almost done. We just need to get a little wrinkle ironed out about the deposit from my old place (Seems to be lost in the mail somewhere) and paying my deposit on the new place.
Doug seems to really like his new job. They are a good company and try to keep their employees happy. It's great.
Nora seems to be settling in just fine. She is getting over her sleeping difficulties that came about from the move so that makes me really happy.
School is rapidly approaching again and I am excited and a little intimidated. I knw I can do well, and I want to do well. So I just need to _LET_ myself do well.
I am really looking forward to just plowing through my courses and hopefully I will be holding my degree in about a year and a half.

Hey, Grace! I got a question about your remedy for the roses (I've got some old ones here that are in sad shape). Is there any special way to apply the coffee grinds, egg shells and banana peel? Thanks!
