whew!! i couldn't believe how high gasoline was in LaGrange, KY yesterday ... i had been paying about $4. per gallon in Ohio ... stopped in LaGrange cuz' i was on EMPTY .. and it cost me $35. for EIGHT stinchy little gallons! luckily, when i got back to my area it was still under $4.

hank said he read the 'fewer' travellers are on the roads .. but i did not notice that coming back from Ohio. have you noticed less cars on the road in your area?

Well, I don't go out too much but then I don't have to. But I feel for the people who have to commute and drive to make their living. Of course, I am still a consumer and I have felt it when I fill up... $75.00 the other day when several months ago it was about $60.00 and my groceries are higher...just about everything actually because everything gets "trucked in" and by the time it gets to "us" everyone has tacked on their additional rise in gas prices so the gal at the bottom is probably paying the most now that I think about it?!?
Anyway, I am blessed to be able to afford it and to be able to travel up and see my children..it's been 3 years. But I will see how the roads are and how "traversed" they are and report back to you all.
Please say a prayer for me as this is the first time I am driving this distance since my eye surgeries and my eyes cross when they get tired WHOA NELLIE! I just pray they stay straight ahead on the road..I know it sounds funny but it's not when you're driving!
HAve a great week and glad you got back okay Frannie! Have fun woth that grandson of yours!

Frannie, we are in the neighborhood of $4.70 and I know we are really making trips count.... My little group of friends keep emails going on who is going to town ( which means Tri-Cities) and we are sending our lists with them ( or thiers with me)... I have been riding my bike to work ( about 2 miles) which was needed anyway for great excersise....

Our little farmers market was packet this Sat and I think a lot of it is the gas prices and people just staying home... hey glad your home safe and sound!

Holy Crow!!! Gas here is still 3.89! I don't drive much, only about 2 days a week during the summer, but I was in town the other day and did notice that the roads were a bit empty. My grandma said that she remembers back in the 70's there were gas problems, and people responded the same way....crazy, huh?

Frannie, I had to go to Elizabethtown yesterday afternoon. The roads were a little empty I thought for a Sunday afternoon. I got gas at a Five Star for $3.89. It was $3.95 in Greensburg when I went through.
Glad you made it home safely, especially through all the storms. It was really windy driving to E-town yesterday. It looked stormy, but did nothing while I was there.
