I went to the "help section" on blogger (blogspot) but came away with no more knowledge than before.
Is it easy or difficult to feature a favorite blog list on your own blog site? I want to add folks whose blogs I love to visit. One reader here recently added me to hers. But I can't figure out how to do it myself!
Any suggestions from experienced bloggers?

Hi, Shirley! If you go to the 'Customize' option at the top of your blog page, then select 'Layout', you should be able to 'add a page element'. Click on that, and you will get a bunch of options. Looks like what you would want would be to 'add a link list'. Then, copy and paste (or just type in!) the blog URL that you want to add. Give it a name, Such as so-and-so's blog, and click save. Check your blog to be sure it worked, but that should do it! Then, when you want to add more, you can just go back to 'customize', then 'layout', then 'edit' the link list and add away! Good luck!

Blogspot has just added a new Blog List feature! Go to Customize, Layout, and "Add a Page Element" just like Molly said. Then pick Blog List, it should be the very first option. From there you'll be able to just enter the web addresses of your favorite blogs and it'll pull the names of the blogs automatically. It's a very nifty little widget they have now. :)

Thank you so much for the help. I was able to start my blog list and it will grow in the days to come as I make my list of favorites. I added you all who helped me - I hope that is okay. Is it good internet manners to ask in advance? If so, I will remove you if you do not want to be on the list.
I love the feeling of learning something new!

Glad you got it figured out! I'm flattered to be on someone's 'favorite blog' list! Thanks for the add! I think it isn't a big deal to add people as you find blogs you like, especially if it is a craft/ hobby type blog. If it's someone's personal family blog, you might ask in advance, but I figure-- if it's a public blog, it's out on the internet and it's up for anyone to view whenever they want; adding it as a favorite just saves you the trouble of having to search for the link every time you want to view it.
I have a personal family blog that is private (only for 'invited readers' ie: family!) and then my soap blog and my farm blog which are public. I think a lot of people are going that route these days because there are some things that you just don't need the entire internet world to know! ;)
Your blog looks great, BTW. I love the picture of your flip flop feet....the water looks so inviting!

Thanks, Molly! I only have a personal blog, since I do not have an online business. I sometimes wonder if I should make it more private....but I have so far left it as is. I have put a few security restrictions on it. Hope I don't learn the hard way about the risks. Any forther opinions on that topic....should I make it for members only? I think then some of my family members would probably not join! Non of them have a blog, and they kind of think mine is "an out there" idea! But when I prompt them they go and visit it, I think!

Glad that you got it worked out Jeannie! Personally I wouldn't make my blog members-only, as that can shut out folks that you might want to read it, like the Farmgirls, family members, etc. I typically try not to use major identifying things like my real name or family member's first names... I like to come up with little nicknames instead. That's why I go by Moxie, hubby is DH or Mr. Moxie, and so on. I also don't list companies I work for, my address, or anything else that would help people track me down. Not that anybody would, but you never know these days.
Thanks for listing my blog in your blog list! Now if only I can get my camera working so that I can post some fun stuff. :)
