so I got just a little creative today...check it out on my blog. Nothing is safe now!!! My boys were teasing that they better hide their snow boots and football helmets!

Jenny I just love that old washer with plants! I just love to put plants into unusual things! I have a old antique cowboy bath tub that I purchased that I need to fill. Love the old washer idea.

A++, Jenny! Too cute. I once saw on a Canadian garden show, a segment that featured a hip chick who recycled an old white enamel stove and in all the burners she planted flowers and herbs. Hey, the idea about football helmets.....they are INSTANT hanging containers, ha! Happy plantin'! Nance

That's clever, Aunt Jenny. The potty chair is very funny. It's a popular thing to do in some places. Last summer, when I needed to sell some antique dining room chairs with caned seats, some people wanted to buy them and smash a hole in the perfectly good seats so they could put them out in the yard with a pot in them! Can you believe it?

Isn't it fun to plant in all kinds of different things. Just look at something and ask yourself, will that hold dirt and a plant? Its easy to get carried away. I know I had to go out twice and buy more plants. It may not be over yet. Where did you get your old washer? I should have kept the one from Richard's aunts house.Anyway, how cute you made the chair and washer look.

I actually used a wringer washer to do my wash for alot of years and loved it. It was identical to this one and I used it until it finally died. When we moved here I didn't bring the poor old thing..sold it for someone to use as a decoration. This one was among a couple others in a friend's back yard just sitting there..when I asked about it she gave it to me a few years ago. If it worked I would be using it I think..but it WORKS like this too!
The "potty" chair was my favorite patio chair for a couple years..given to me by an old guy who was moving into a retirement home..but I blew it and left it out in the patio room all winter...and that weakened the seat ....and ruined the chair. I love it so much I wanted to keep it around longer.

Very nice! i especially love the flowers tumbling out of the washer. We have an old canoe we were thinking of using as a planter, but it would be just too much dirt....I think it is at least twelve feet long.

Very creative, Jenny... thanks for the pics... at the garden center where I used to work, we had a rule: If it'll hold dirt, plant something in it...
