I was outside today, checking out my flowers and I just couldn't stay out there. The wind was non stop and had such a chill in it. So I came in and did some needlework, made some sugar cookies, got some pork chops and yellow squash ready for dinner. Then I was looking at my old desk in the living room and thinking how My grandma and aunts had written so many letters while sitting at that desk during world war two. Would love to see what they said. Probably all kinds of things that were going on in town and with the family, and around the house. What a shame we don't have them to read. Anyway, took a picture of that old desk for my site. I think its been on there before, but hey, I didn't go to the thrift today so I have to put something on.

It's not too nice here either, Nancy Jo. It is breezy and rainy. I want to finally work in my yard---I'M READY---but not in the rain. Done it before--don't want to do it anymore. I bet that desk hold many memories. I think that is where you get your better appreciation of that era things because of your neat upbringing. MB

It was very chilly and windy here; but Sunny
I was suppose to take Mom out to do her shopping
She heard that it was maybe going to be stormy weather.
here.; so she wants to go tommorrow
I don't like to be out when it is raining hard or storming.
Or snow for that matter.
We only had about 2 inchens of snow here in my part of Va this year.
We use to have bunches of snow when I was growing up, pinkroses

It is starting to get too hot here.....I do not want the cool dry days go away. I think I would welcome a cold inside day, and we have only been into hot weather a week or so. 93 today. I am thankful that we have had such a long spring, though. My garden loved it too.

I love your beautiful desk, Nancy, and your new apron.....smile girl when you take those photos! You are so pretty! :)

Nancy,

Beautiful desk - and momento of your aunt and your heritage. It would be great to have those letters.

It is cold here today too. I'm off to get 30 flats for my cutting garden - but think that I shouldn't plant yet for a few more days. It is suppose to get down to 33 tonight.
