I am totally failing today- Lays Potato chips, a sugar cookie, ranch dip. Comfort food I guess. I am feeling pretty devastated because Nora is so sick. Silly I know. Drinking my Kombucha tea to help me snap out of it. Hopefully I can sleep tonight and go running tomorrow!

hi everybody.....i just realized that i never put down how much weight i want to lose....20 lbs to start but 30 lbs would be great. i lost 12 last year and was really on a roll but then the holidays came and i gained almost all of it back. ugh! i am thinking positive, though, for ALL of US!!! this summer, when it's hot outside, we won't feel like eating and that's when we'll all lose so much weight that we farmgirls will be able to have our own "victoria's secret model" fashion show.....we'll just wear aprons!! think skinny thoughts, you all!!

YUM!!!! Dinner last night out with the relatives and ate at Ottos...I had grilled halibut with fruit salsa over lemon spinach risotto....fabulous and good for me, too! We all shared a bottle of wine from Francis Ford Coppoloa's vineyards that was really good and SO PRETTY! It was a blush, with hints of rose petal, cherry bark, and citrus.

Today starts another day with black coffee and yogurt. Lunch and dinner are up in the air :)

Tamara and I have been e-mailing each other for a little boost of inspiration. It works wonders knowing that you will get a little note of encouragement to help you through the day.
Today I am painting the Omelet Hotel, so I will be getting lots of exercise going up and down the ladder! ;) I am having soft boiled eggs and 1 slice of whole wheat toast for breakfast, no butter, just jam. Bleah. I like butter. ha ha
I bought a Leslie Sansone dvd last night at Target. It's called Walk Away the Pounds 5-Day Fit Walk. I'll be trying it out this afternoon!!
Have a great day, everyone!

Awesome Karin, let us see a pic after its painted!!! Think about it our ancestors didn't have to EXERCISE cause the work they did was rigorous. Girl why not have butter every other day? Or as a treat don't deprive!! I swear you will love the dvd. She is upbeat and you feel good. xoxo

Nora was up several times in the night not feeling well- needing more tylenol for her crazy fever, and so of course I was worrying about her and didn't sleep well. I guess jogging is only going to happen once she starts feeling better. I better make and effort to try and get a Namaste Yoga in- even though all I want to do is nap!

Do moms have to get up in the middle of the night just so they are as tired as their sick kiddos? LOL

AW honey, just remember your eating matters, even if you're not working out. You're active. Plus make sure you'er not stressing yourself out and you get sick. Keep up on your tea and those goodies from it!

Karin is so right - the little emails help.

I have already had a BIG positive from this group. I guess I had been in denial about emotional eating. After 14 hour days I was walking through the door STARVED and EXHAUSTED ( I drive 4 hour round trip every day to work) and just shoving food in my mouth. When I realized what was happening I stepped back yesterday and almost cried when I realized what I was doing. So new plan

1. Take something healthy to munch on as I drive home. Have it with water - Today is orange slices with a few almonds

2. When I go through the door say hello to the family and then walk into my room and take a few minutes to change clothes, pull my hair back and wash my face. A few deep breaths and then THINK about eating and relax for a few minutes.

VERY good tamara, also chew on gum or a piece of candy, 1 piece :-p so you have the oral stimulation. You might have an oral fixation or prone to.

I'm hanging in there gals..one word of caution..do not use a health store colon cleanse to help your system to try to get back on track.I thought..oh great..I'm getting back into eating better..but why not do a cleanse right at the same time to transition my body over into healthier eating.I naively thought that using something like that would be "gentle" on my system...and after about 3 days I'd be fine. uggh. I had no idea that if you took the correct dose at night as per package instructions that you would literally be all day the next day..from the time you woke up until about 1 a.m. that night... viewing life from your bathroom.I will never, never use a product like that again.
Suffice it to say that I was so sick yesterday that I have learned my lesson the hard way.And am working today simply on rehydrating myself.
I lost about 3 lbs yesterday..but not the way I wanted to.I had no idea that it would do that to me.
Oh gosh sakes alive.
ugggh.
miserable miserable.It literally dehydrated me.
So today I did sip on a natural gingerale soda and plan on just drinking plenty of water.
So...a word of caution..please avoid the health store colon cleanses.

i was laughing while reading your "spot", but i know it wasn't funny.......sorry!! anyway, a few months ago i was really sick for about 2 days......just threw up everything...(i know, disgusting) anyway, i figured i had to have lost 3 lbs at least....when i weighed myself a week later, i really didn't ????? a dietition friend of mine said that sometimes your body will go into shock over being sick and for the next several days, refuse to let go of any weight. i don't know if that is true, but if it is, don't get depressed if that happens. in the meantime, i will heed your warning!

Tina - OH MY GOSH!! I have done that before myself. Not fun, not pretty. The bad part is the weight comes right back as soon as you eat. .

I've never tried that before, Tina, but have often seen it and thought, "hmmm" and then, out of my head it goes as quickly as it came in. Now I know for SURE not to consider it...so sorry you found out that way. Hope you feel better soon :)

3 rounds of pepto bismol and 3 rounds of kaopectate later..I think I'm now on the mend.LOL

ooh a yard sale..what fun..I like going to them..but hate having them..but..I'm going to have to have one here soon.:0( yuck. I guess the thing about having them here is even if you mark something a quarter folks only want to give you a nickel..ha.
and I price my stuff too cheap to begin with alot of times...ha.
hope you are having a great day.
I've not felt too chipper since that colon cleanse fiasco a few days ago...actually have been blah since it.Silly me..
and really trying to take it easy cause it seems no matter what I try to eat now wants to set my stomach off.
So.it's just a slice of toast here and something light there..as I can handle it..but plenty of water to rehydrate after that episode.

Tina- I would recommend trying some Kefir or active culture yogurt. It sounds like the flora and fauna in your intestines might have gotten out of wack and you might need some beneficial cultures to get you back to normal again.

Tina- I just read about your horrible adventure with cleansing. I feel your pain, sister! I did the same thing last year and thought I was going to die. The only thing that helped me was the BRAT diet for a day or two. (Bananas, rice, applesacue and toast.) Funny that the thing that is supposed to restore your health makes you feel like, well, you know.
Hope you are better soon! From now on, just eats lots of celery. Works much better and you don't feel like death warmed over the next day.
