Wanted to update:

No baby yet!

Cut out 6 pairs of bloomers, assembled 1.
Cut out 4 dresses, assembled 1.
Cut out 4 pinafores or aprons, assembled 1 (1 dress is a party dress and doesn't get a pinafore).

So I have one complete outfit assembled, two dresses and one pinafore left to cut out.

I think I'll race through the rest of the bloomers tonight though. They go fast.

Best,

Robin

I think the bloomers were the easiest for me too. I have the patterns and material and giving myself "permission to sew" only after I catch up on housework...LOL wish me luck! LOL
I have 3 skirts, one blouse, one dress, 4 bloomers, etc. A couple things didn't turn out good so I won't use them for this swap. It's all good sewing practice for me anyway.
My dolly won't sit so I still need a stand....I'm planning to drag out some old rag doll, floppy ones just to dress them. I have a rattan chair their size and planning on making a mattress/bed and bedding for part of the decor.

Well yo girls sound like you have things moving right along. I cannot sew until my gardens are all in, and my cleaning is all done, so I am just thinking of good ideas along the way. I found the fabrics I want to use and have them set aside.

Good luck on the outfits robin. Have fun cleaning linda.

Ronna...got your package today..thank you so much...the whole thing was a joy to open. You are awesome.

Isn't she beautiful? I am paying only about $15 for her. The dolls this size and this nice are going for closer to $40-50 and more, but I think they are for girls to play with...this is porceline for display. I am gonna love her!

I'm updating so everyone knows I haven't had this baby yet (I'm supposed to wait until after tomorrow at least because my husband is going to San Francisco for a job interview). I couldn't get together with my friend this weekend, so no pictures yet.

I finished 4 COMPLETE outfits! Woot! Plus, all six pairs of bloomers are done.

I have the other two dresses and pinafores cut out. I hope to finish one more tonight and the other one tomorrow, so that if the baby DOES come this weekend, I'll have this all ready to go.

By the way -- do you ladies have a preference on fasteners? My pattern suggests snaps, but I was thinking velcro would be better for those of us who intend the dresses to be played with by little girls.. Any thoughts one way or the other?

I use velcro a lot, but I have also noticed that the girls dolls have a lot of pic marks on their bodies, and it has a tendency to wreck their hair...so I have been using buttons.

I hadn't thought of what the velcro does to doll hair. One pattern says use velcro and others have the small snaps...I like snaps. I bought soft velcro but maybe I won't use it and put snaps on instead.
Robin, thanks for the update. I haven't done any sewing lately...getting in the mood soon! :-)

Hello Ladies. It's the silent hostess checking in. Sounds like you all have been having tons of fun. I've been very busy with 14 hour days that are coming to an end as I rehurt my back and DH has put his foot down about working that many hours a day. So I hope to be back to posting soon and sewing up a storm. I have acquired a few new/old dollies in the last few weeks. Check out my blog to see pics of them.
