My step daughter will be 10 in November and has been in the high functioning Asperger's spectrum since she was a toddler. There is hope! We have had her seeing a private therapist for years, and she is closely monitored in a somewhat personalized school situation (its a small private school) but I can tell you in the last 2 years we have seen remarkable breakthroughs. It took a long time to get where we are and we still have a long way to go, but we are making progress! I agree with others: stick with the therapy and stick up for yourself with the schools. And just stay positive for your son there is hope, but if you need vent and ask questions - you are human so don't be afraid to ask for support!
