My sister-in-law is a hair dresser and I know that sometimes she takes prenatal vitamins for her hair. She also has some other "hair" vitamins that she takes, but I am not sure of the brand. I will ask her. I think that biotin is important. I'll see if she can tell me more and let you know.
Arginine and ornithine are what are recommended for helping thinning hair. My mom used to take it after she lost her hair to chemo. It worked pretty well for her. I bought some recently, but like every thing in my house, I have misplaced it! Karin

I took Biotin last year on the recommendation of the daughter of my best friend. It did seem to help my hair grow faster and it also seemed to be healthier and stronger, too. I took it for a few months when I was planning to cut it all off and donate it to Locks of Love.

My mom had excellent luck with seaweed - kelp, specifically. Also she took a "hair, skin and nails" formula vitamin purchased through our local food co-op!
