I've never made bias tape before. I need to make 1/4" DOUBLE FOLD bias tape. What size of tape maker do I need to get? Do the tape makers make single fold or double fold? Can you recommend a brand?
I normaly just buy 1/2" single fold and iron it down the middle as some of the 1/4" double folds are off center.
I am trying to look into this, but my preliminary research tells me you need a 1/2" bias tape maker, unless you can find one that specifically says 1/4" double fold. As for brands, I have no idea, but I know Clover makes them, and they generally make good quality tools. Annie
Use a 1/2" Bias Tape maker. They make single fold bias tape. Clover makes a really nice bias tape maker that I've used. You can order one from www.joann.com and they have a 40% off code you can enter to get a discount through 9/7/05. I LOVE making my own bias tape. The color and style of fabric available is nearly unlimited! Nancy
Hi Susan -- I just went to Joann.com, they several Clover bias tape makers (1/4" to 2"), and they're on sale. I ordered a 1/2" and it was $5.99. Can't wait to get it to make bias tape for aprons.
