Hi everyone-- I just have to say that I'm really excited to "meet" all kinds of like minded women (or men, or whatever) here. As I get older, I find with the hurried pace we keep, it's very difficult to meet folks, let alone true kindred spirits, so this is a real pleasure, to be sure! I am mom to 3 dogs (german shepherd--Rose; Pit Bull/Border Collie-Finnigan; Lab/Collie-Elie) and three cats (Jack, Professor Pumkin and Stooka) and am an adoption counselor for a rural animal shelter. I also do animal rescue on the side (as you can tell :). I can't wait to read more here and do more of the things I dream of. Thanks for being so very kind and welcoming already!
Just think of all of the roads there are...all of the things I haven't seen....yet. |

Jonni- You'll find plenty of kindered spirits here. Wonderful of you to look out for our furry friends. Too many people don't care. I've got an adopted dog, cat & two out of four my horses adopted because they needed a home. I'd take on more, but 3 1/2-yr-old son, self-employed and DH who works long hours means we're at our adoption max right now :)
Enjoy the forum. |

Welcome Jonni!!! Isn't it fun to find other animal lovers!!?? I have a cat named Pumpkin too..but he isn't a proffessor (smile) and an adopted siamese cat (Alice) and basset hound(Maggie) along with two more dogs...a basset named Stella and a weiner dog named Frank..plus all the farm animals too. I can't imagine life without them. I have been to Kentucky only once..my oldest son lived there for a few years and when his little girl was born three years ago I got to go out there to visit for a week..it is so pretty and green and I loved it. He lived near Paducah in Possum Trot. He has moved to Calif now, with a stopover for 2 and 1/2 years here in Utah. I am glad I got the opportunity to see KY and a little of TN too! I am glad you found us!!!!!

Welcome, Jonni! I was born in northern Ky., & spent my first 22 years there. I know Elsmere well, & my baby sister lives in Independence. There is so much beauty & old spirit among those hills, & along the rivers. Lots of old grandmother "farmgirls" with vast stores of knowledge, too..... Melanie |

Hello fellow Kentuckian!! It is good to see others from the bluegrass state. I'm originally from London, KY, but now I live in Lexington. Feel free to email me if you ever need info on agriculture stuff in KY. :)
Take care,
