WHA????


I ordered a seed and tree catalog and this is mentioned in it.Its a fruit you can eat,and from what I understand its popular and grows well here in Indiana.Anyone ever grow this,or know of anyone who has?

I think it is probably a pawpaw. There were a bunch of them in the woods near where I used to live, but I never tried to eat one, though I have heard they are great. I don't know of anyone who has intentionally grown them, but I am sure it wouldn't be too hard.

Yep, it's a pawpaw. The seed catalogs have different varieties now. It's supposed to taste like a banana. I'm thinking about trying to grow some.

I used to eat these when I cycled like a fool about 10 yrs ago. My x bfriend,(who was a cycling fanatic) tuurned me onto them when we would be riding in the woods; he could spot a pawpaw tree a mile off. They are indeed yummy, but birds would usually get the fruit before we could. They are very soft, like a banana, sweet, full of good carbs & energy perfect for a long bike ride.
