I got a great seed catalog yesterday and I went through it last night and planted my dream garden...lol Since I live with the family I'm a nanny for there isn't a place for me to garden and I'm not close enough to my parents to keep up with a garden at their place, I may be able to get away with a small one with my sister-in-laws help but not near what I dream about.
I "planted" all sorts of tomatos-pink, orange, red, purple and yellow, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peppers, carrots, asparagus, spinach, salad greens, green beans, snap peas, cabbage, watermelon, several kinds of cucumbers, chives, lavender and parsley.

What would you plant in your dream garden? or what are you planning to plant in your garden this year?

Would the family you live with let you have a few pots of plants outside? At least you could get some tomatoes and herbs.

Unfortunately no, they live in a subdivision with pretty strict rules on what kinds of things you can have like that. I keep telling myself that I'll have it someday :)

That is so sad and frustrating! Some communities have community gardens, where people can get a little plot of land to plant. Maybe there's something like that in the area, or like you said, at your SIL's place.

Don't give up on your dream!

I was looking at a seed catalog this week with my daughter, and we were picking out all kinds of things that my garden is way too small to hold! One thing I want to grow again is butternut squash. Those vines take up lots of space, though, and I have to get a cucumber crop to make my famous relish. Last summer I did not get cucumbers, due to poor seeds and a late start, and we really miss the relish this winter! I might try some zucchini again, too.

Elizabeth, you can actually have that garden..but as a hydroponically grown garden.
There is a system called Verti-gro that allows you to grow things in very little room. You grow them in pots that stack vertically.
I've actually been wanting to get a few of these kits so that I can grow alot of things.

I have seen this system and it is amazing!

Elizabeth,
You are welcome to come and play in my garden anytime you want! It would be a little bit of a hike, but all the dirt you would want.
