this is a pic of my Grandma's Hoosier. It sits in my parlor. It was going to be distroyed when they tore her house down, but I saved it!!!

Does anyone else have a pic or story about a hoosier cabinet?

Oh, wow! I am SO jealous! I have wanted a Hoosier cabinet for ages, but I've never found one I both like AND afford!

Hooray for you for rescuing it, Sherone! Good girl! And that's a pretty quilt on that nice rocking chair. It's a cold day here in KY. I'd love to be sitting in that rocking chair with the quilt over me having a cup of tea!

Thanks! I love that quilt. It was a gift from a dear friend of mine. The pink pillow on the rocking chair was a gift from my MIL and the pink quilt behind the red and blue one was made by my mom. I remember lying under it as she made it watching the pictures appear on the bottom. Ahhhh, childhood.

It's cold here too. Come to think of it, a quilt wrapped around me does sound good.

My daughter bought a very nice one from a gift shop that had used it for display for at least 25 years. Think she paid about $500 and it's well worth it. There was one sitting in a tiny house in the small town where my husband grew up; had been there for at least 50 years. Woman who bought the house agreed to sell it and an oak ice box to me for $50 each and then her grandaughter claimed both of them.
Was many years ago, probably 30, but I still feel cheated. My BIL had lived in the house and I'd loved the Hoosier when I was a teenager.
