I finished it! I thought the embroidery would be the tough part, but for me it was the cutting and sewing. Put it on a jean jacket. Not as "perfect" as I had pictured in my head, but I prefer to think of it as the "rustic" look, lol! I am so proud of it! It was alot of fun, and now I can't wait to earn some more patches! What do y'all think? Thanks to all my farmgirl sisters for their help! Kerriann, you were sooo right about using two strands for my chicken!

Your patch is darling! I too like the "rustic", primitive look!
Good Job!!!!!

Hi Karrieann! Thanks! I wasn't truly trying for that, and actually purchased "cherry" theme fabric to put a ruffle backing, but got too carried away with the scissors, LOL. But, now I am happy with it. I guess I will use the cherry fabric scraps for the tops of my jam jars.

I am so excited to be a sister now to you all! Until this past week, I have not had time to work on my badge. Also, I haven't embroidered since I was very young (ions ago).

Anyway, the finished product is on the link below. I wasn't able to figure out how to just display the picture in this message...so if anyone could offer me a tutorial, it would be so appreciated!

Part of the badge please me; parts I wish I had done better, but still, I am proud of it overall. I am attaching a pin to the back so that I can wear it on a number of jackets, dresses or aprons.
Warmly,
Lisa (#1202)

Thank you so much, Nicole and Channah! Not perfect by any stretch, but sort of prissy or frilly like me, and it has my favorite morning glories adorning it, and the hen is the color of one of my favorite chickens, which has grown soooo much. Also, the apron is sort of frilly too.....with lots of pink. I guess that's me. LOL

Warmly,
Lisa (Farmgirl Sister #1202)

Wow Elizabeth!
I love the Morning Glories on there!
Pretty good for someone who hasn't embroidered in a while.
Smiles!

Thank you, Carla! When I was young, and even 30 years ago when my kids were little, we embroidered. I would let the kids draw a picture on cloth and teach them as I worked on something. I still have their first attempts, mounted on a hoop with batting behind and on the wall so I can tell their little ones that their mom...or dad....'made that'.

I think I have the bug and want to start back again. I would really like to mimic an old style sampler and work on something that perhaps could be an heirloom to my grandkids. I have so much of my grandmother's crochet work, all beautiful and very precious to me.

Thank you again! I do love morning glories!
