Those are sooo cute! I got mine in the mail yesterday and was SO proud...I was in the middle of wallpapering my kitchen...I make a huge sticky mess, anyways, I think mine got thrown in the trash since I had several people helping me, what do I do to get another one? Member # 877

Added a pin to the back of mine as well. Don't have a denim jacket just a barn jacket that serves me well. I love my new badge but I think I will add my number to it. I used buttons from my grandma's button jar./Users/keelyathome/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Modified/2005/From the Craft room/IMG_7085_2.JPG |

I talked to him and had him send me 2 more! That way I have one for my purse and for my denim jacket! I love wearing the denim jacket! I have been working on several merit badges and am thinking of maybe making a quilt with them??? Where do ya'll put your merit badges? Oh and guess what I did this weekend??? I went to my antique booths and the owner let me switch from my small sewing booth to one that is 4 times the size!! She said my booth is doing so good she thought I needed a bigger one! Only 20 more a month PLUS has vintage cabinets built in that came from a hardware store we had that are about 100 years old! I am soooo excited!!! Exhausted but excited!

Jeez, you guys...your badges are all so BEAUTIFUL!
I put mine on my denim ball cap since I will wear that here in Arizona a LOT more often than my denim jacket!
My friend and I are going to make wall hangings with our merit badges.

OK, I know it's not really fancy and I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do to show it off, so it hasn't been cut out yet, but here's my badge so far. This is my first time embroidering. It was a lot of fun. And, to show my fun personality, Henrietta is strutting her hot pink stuff! LOL!

I think all badges are so darn cute because each and every one was made by each special Farmgirl!!! Handmade, hand-done are more precious and made with love!

Oh my, these are gorgeous! I just started embroidering again-you all have so inspired me! I feel quite inadequate after going over my badge with some red thread-I think I'm going to have to start over. I just started on some dishtowels and have decided I must be the worlds slowest embroiderer. Thanks for sharing!

Because of my Scottish heritage I chose to finish my sisterhood badge with tartan plaid binding in colors that are close to the Armstrong Clan tartan colors. The buttons are pewter, upper one is a Celtic knot and the lower one is a Scottish thistle (which is the national flower of Scotland, believe it or not). The lace "rosette" resembles the rosettes of the Jacobites.
I used wonder-under to put it to backing and has a pin on the back so I can wear it on anything I want. I really didn't want it permanently sewn to any one thing.

I haven't embroidered anything in a long, long, looooooonnnnnggggg time. Can y'all tell me what the best way to do it is? Embroider the chicken with one strand, but what about the other items?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! :) I don't want to mess up my patch! It means alot!

Thanks, Karrieann. BTW, your patch is AMAZING! What's the best way to sew fabric to the back? I'm not much of a seamstress, but I do have a sewing machine.

Thanks Heather! I know what you mean . . . I thought about how I wanted to do mine for a long time before I actually made my decision.
You'll get it . . . be sure you post a pic when you're done THANKS AGAIN!! CJ

Nicole, thanks (blushes) What I did for my back... first I found a piece of plastic and cut it into the shape of the patch, to give some firmness. then found some fabric for the back and stitched it to the patch (backside) by hand. then I used my glue "Ok to Wash" (I think thats what it is called). I covered the whole back with it. After that dried I used a small strip of cloth to place the safety pin and again used that glue and waited for the whole thing to dry. Viola! If you plan to "trim" it.. do that before any gluing, after attaching the back fabric or it will be a pain to sew with the glued back.
Hope that helped some.. I basically made it up as I went along while making my patch. :o)
