Got mine done. It is sewn to the back of my quilted bag (project for the quilting badge) and I will add the badges around it as I earn them.

These all look so good! I am still waiting for my patch to come in the mail. I just put my order in this weekend! I am really excited but I don't quite know how I will decorate my own.

Everyone's is awesome! I did mine and my husband liked it, but doesn't "get it". I'm not even going to try to explain. I am just so excited to be in the Sisterhood. I am already getting started on those merit badges! |

I really love all the patches and can't wait to get my packet and start mine. I am new to this, so I have questions. Can anyone suggest a good book on embroidery? Are you backing the patches with interfacing or just another piece of muslin?
Yours, Des |

Personally, I like the book Sublime Stitching, as it has a ton of great iron-on transfers with it. I'm sure though that other books have more actual stitches, but it's the only straight-up embroidery book I have.
I take that back, I also have The New Cross-Stitcher's Bible... LOVE THAT BOOK. It has heaps and heaps of techniques and projects to take cross-stitching beyond just the basic stitch.
I didn't back or reinforce my patch before I started... but then after the embroidery was done I added some iron-on interfacing to the back, and then finished it off with a piece of scrap calico. If I had to do it over, I'd iron on the interfacing before I started stitching.

Diana, your patch is super cute! I love the gingham a well! I need to start on mine. I just got it in the mail the other day and went out and bought embroidery supplies...it will be my first embroidery project...but of course I am going to practice some before I go all out on the badge!

Yay! I knew that I had seen this thread somewhere! I enjoyed so much seeing all of your Sisterhood Badges. I am really glad that I get to belong with such a varied and talented and caring group of women! Y'all are the best!

I love all the sisterhood badges shown here. I just joined and don't even have my member packet yet. As soon as it gets here I'll be able to embellish it and make it into a pin I can wear with pride.
