You girls are nice girls....for some reason this year, as pretty as it was, I could not WAIT to get it down. Now the birds are enjoying it outside with oranges and strung berries and cheerios.

Well, I took the decorations off yesterday and they are in boxes in the middle of the living room. The tree is still up although bare right now. I really have to put everything away as I'm having to walk a path between all the stuff in the floor here.

Mine has been gone since the Friday after Christmas! I feel too cluttered if I leave stuff out too long around the holidays...I like to decorate and whatnot, but don't like it out for a long time...just me:) It is this way with all holidays around here. Hugs, Erica |

We usually keep the decorations up until after mid-Jan. I just couldn't do it this time. The day after Christmas the whole family was ready to get back to "normal". So, down came everything and organized (for the first time!) and put away in the shed.
Everything except.....the front porch lights. I just noticed them yesterday and said "Girls, we need to take those down or we'll look like rednecks" My oldest was offended because she likes being "country" and made reference to Gretchen Wilson's song that sings of "keepin' Christmas lights on my front porch all year long" They're still up....not sure for how long though.

I didn't even put a tree up this year! All the Christmas decorations were put away last weekend, though, because I hate going back to work knowing that the "clutter" still needs to be dealt with :-)

I am taking mine down tomorrow. I have the day off from work,(shhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell the kids!)I had vacation time to use it or lose it.
I am doing that and other stuff I didn't get done over the holidays. We were running here and or doing this every day.

Ours came down last Tuesday, New year's Day. It was dry!!!! Even though we religiously watered it. I miss it! Love to sit at night and enjoy the lights. My mantle is still decorated and I have two wreaths still on the doors.
Ours at church is still up, and I was there by myself yesterday setting up for communion. I turned the tree on while I was there just to enjoy the lights and sparkle. It was so quiet and pretty in there. I love Christmas trees!!!! Any other decorations I could let go of if needed, but not a tree.

Normally mine would be, as I usually chose a very large, and due to my allergy to pine , expensive fir tree. So we keep it up as long as possible to get the full use out of that pricey tree. However this year it was a small fake tree. And since we are moving it is all packed away. This coming year I plan to purchase a very nice large real looking fake tree. I can not see spending nearly 100 dollars every year to keep throwing it away, also I hate killing all those trees. So I will just by some pine or whatever scented candles and burn them, LOL![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif) Hugs Amy

I just took all the decorations down yesterday and the tree today. What a job!! I am glad everything is back to normal, but I do miss the lights! It's so cozy with the tree on and the fireplace going. Glad someone said wreaths, I just realized my is still on the front door.

Mine is still up too. I love to decorate but hate to clean up. It usually stays up until one of the kids gets embarrassed and takes it down.

OK, I should NEVER tell this story... We once had our tree up for 3 1/2 YEARS! LOL Seriously...it started as a running joke because I left it up to decorate for our Jan. birthdays, then of course it was NEARLY Valentine's day anyway... We added hearts. Weeeelllll our youth group kids though that was REAL funny and begged us to keep it up longer, so we did...
Eventually, we became sort of a Christmas legend...don't ask. So when friends, youth groups, or bands came to stay, they bought an ornament for THE tree. I vaccumed it, dusted it, and finally when I could no longer stand it standing in the corner of the room I shoved it out of an upstairs window!
Man, that tree was dry...
...kidding. It was, of course, an artificial tree.

Mine is still up and it has NEVER been up this long. I have also never been working outside of my home at Christmas. I just don't have the gumption to take it down this year, I guess that is called laziness huh? It is coming down tomorrow. The girls and I are here alone because this is the last hunting weekend so we are doing that first thing tomorrow (like it or not)

My Christmas decorations got put away New years Day, it was our tradition as a kid, to start the new year new. I do still have my little ceramic Christmas tree up and the bah humbug tree of coarse!!!!! We put up all blue lights outside this year and they are still up cause those puppies are frozen. thus choosing the blue so it won't matter!!!!!

Mine came down last week. It hadn't dried out yet, but it had stopped taking in water, and the water in the stand was so skunky it had to go! |

Mine is still up too. I think I'm going to leave my little sewing tree up all year. It is small and I think I'll just add seasonal ornaments. I have so enjoyed the atmosphere that those white lights make each evening that i just can't bear to put it away.
