The girls had a great time at our house. It was sunny their whole visit. They visited Missy's farm and met the chickent and goats. Then my 12 year old, Stephanie, made them pillows for their trunk. Steph had fun taking lots of pictures. And I made them a tote bag to carry all the goodies they get from other visits. JP -- let us know when they arrive.

Will do! It is late afternoon here and no girls yet. Will they come through the mail or UPS? Mail has come for today. Feel like I am waiting for the prodigal daughters!!! :)
Now it is Monday morning, the 20th. Hope the girls come today!

Guess what????? The girls arrived today! They are so cute I am stunned. And all the little goodies that are with them are equally stunning. I am humbled, and cannot think what I can do that will be equal to what you gals have given them. My hubby was amazed (and puzzled) and he is still wondering at the coolness of the Farmgirl mentality. Anyway, they are safe and sound, and will get Southern hospitality, and I will try to give them a good time in Florida!

Happy to hear that they arrived safe and sound too. Just a word of warning.... I hear they like to eat a LOT, hence the 16 pounds!! Enjoy! Luzy

I'm so glad that they finally arrived. There is so much cool stuff that goes along with them -- especially the scrapbook. I really had fun with that. Enjoy them!

I can't for the girls to come to PA. Do we have an idea of where we are on the list? We want to make them cute yoga clothes, farmgirl style of course! Pocono Farmgirls

Well, the girls and my hubby and I had a fun afternoon. We took Meggie Rae and MaryJane to MaClay Gardens, and then to Goodwood Plantation. They got to see a little of the history of this deep south area, and it was a bright and sunny day.....lots of photos were taken. As soon as I get the photos developed, I will download a couple for your viewing.
Tomorrow we are off to my daughter's house for a little tea party with my granddaughter. My only worry is that Abigail will not see why they are just passing through and cannot stay forever!
Right now the girls are smiling and sitting in my kitchen hutch as I try to decide what to make for dinner. They have their aprons on! I wore my apron this afternoon, too, and my boots, and we got some looks but all friendly ones. One elderly lady, who I could tell was on her way back to childhood in her mind, stopped with her eyes and mouth wide open and she just wanted to hold the dollies. I think her family was a little embarrassed, but I thought it was really sweet. Joy still comes to us all as long as we have a little child in us.
Well, I will keep you updated, and let you know when they are off again! I want to make my scrapbook page, too, so the next couple of days will be busy!
My hubby was so cute.....I love how the guys are getting in on this stuff!

In the photo of Missy and chickens and farmgals, did you notice that the chicken feeder looks like a blue halo over the dolls' heads? :)

I thought the same thing about the halo when I first saw the picture too!!
I'm so happy to hear that you are having such a great time with the girls!! And what a sweet story about the elderly lady wanting to hold the dolls! It's nice to know that such a simple thing can bring such joy to someone. Thanks for sharing the story. Can't wait to see the pictures!! Hugs! Luzy

Luzy - see what joy you have created? :) My apron is a vintage from my grandma. The girls seemed to like it.

I love how you phrased this -- what a gracious, gentle way of expressing this. Do you mind if I share this on my blog? I'll give you credit, of course.

Share away, Patti! Please do. Is it not the way of life to be gentle with one another and try to understand?
Thanks for asking! I visited your blog site....keep the bottles of wine in their normal place!!! :)

JP - you look so happy and so do the dolls. I never noticed the halo in Missy's picture. That's actually the ducks little swimming pool but it does look like a halo.

What fun to see more photos of you all and "the girls!" Whenever I read what they are up to, I almost feel like I am there visiting and meeting some of you all. This is such a fun thing to do...

I'm so glad I found this! I've only been here(this wonderful site) for a little over a week. This is better than any letter chain, and even the traveling book bear our local library does! These dolls will be full of so much love it's going to rub off on anyone to has the opportunity to host them....like foreign exchange students(sort of)! Erin

I sent the dolls on to Molly in Wisconsin. They had a slight delay in their rounds because we had not heard from one of the farmgirls in a long time...but they are definitely traveling again, and I hope they are happy!
