Your mom needs her own machine too, Naomi. Maybe I need to lean on your dad for 2-fers.

thanks bonne....you may just have found yet another calling..."sewing lobbyist" LOL

Jess...we were not laughing at your expense, but we hve been there....not so very long ago....

We of course had the kiddie barf thing....but one night a few years ago when sadie was a pup...she was in the habit of eating her own poop as a pup. Well, one night she was in the bathroom, where she slept as a pup, and got sick with diarhhea...and of course the smell woke us up. But by the time we could get to the bathroom, she had already cleaned up the evidence. Feeling sorry for her, we took her back to bed with us. A few hours later, we were awakened by the sound of her wretching. She was standing over Jack's face vomitting up the puppy poop....right on his chest and face, pillow, sheets, comforter, everything. Needless to say, that was the end of sleep for that night! What a mess!

Ok, that's way worse than kiddie's getting sick.
**sigh**
I started my "spring/garden/butterflies flitting about/prancing through the flowers" mini aprons yesterday. I'm knitting them so it's gonna take considerably longer~I needed something to slow me down! LOL

Wait! Can i just say that one reason I like the mini apron swap is strictly to read the thread.

Jess-I can't believe the story. What gets me is teh rest of teh kids just sleeping there, and you pinned down so she is still barfing on you. Yikes. That was one of the funniest things I have read in quite some time. I laughed so hard I read it to the kids. nOw they thought it was "Gross, Mom." But I was stil llaughing so hard.

Oh, and yes, I have been vomitted on in the face in bed, but my kids was probably 2 or so at the time. Same situation minus all the extras in your bed. I did not find it as humorous as your story though. Maybe it's thre reading of it INSTEAD of living it that makes it so funny.

Anyway, Jess, I hope that it does not run through the whole household. Hope you have some fun over this weekend.

Naomi, you should ask for a SERGER for your birthday. You would love one!! It does so many things. Go to a machine shop and ask for a demo.

Bev..buy the embroidery machine on charge and just notify dear hubby that his gift to you is right here. I have to work this way with mine. No matter how much I TELL my dear hubby I REALLY WANT a fabric gift card to the quilt store, he just won't do it. So, I just have to take my own money and go there myself. Sometimes, you just have to buy it yourself. I have bought all three of my machines without help. It can be empowering.

Well, thank you all ladies, pet poop story, too was a scream although I don't care to experience that one for myself. I have laughed myself well on this thread this morning. Thanks, ladies.

hehehe I have my son trained to buy me Joann's Gift Cards for Xmas/B-Day/Mother's Day.
Yeah, the hubby's don't get blatant hints sometimes. Usually if I get some "major"(for me) purchase, he gets some type of power tool added to his collection. Then everyone is happy and creative with their new toys.

Happy Sunday everyone!! Last night we had to cook at the church spaghetti dinner. I have a few pictures of my reluctant (while he was home at least!) husband working in the kitchen! It is something that just had to be recorded.

Ok Bev: EEEEEWWWWWWW

One day I will have to tell you about a set of triplets I used to tutor that had serious "pooopy cocky" issues (their words, not mine!)

Oh, I am almost done with my minis. They are not coming out exactly the way I hoped they would (maybe the fabric is not as tough?) but they will be cute with all of yours around it.

oh good sheryl..mine arent very cute either, put mine in the middle next to sheryl's and maybe we will just fade into cuteness with everyone elses. However..I find it hard to believe something Sheryl has made would not be cute!

And..."poopy cocky?" that just sounds bad!

Geez Sheryl!! We did the same thing for a fundraiser at my son's school a few years back, only it was a chili dinner in the church basement. Hubby was grand master of the ordeal, setting things up how he wanted and issuing orders to us 4 gals assisting. He loves to cook, but I've never seen him in action for a big affair. Really kinda shocks you to realize their "hidden talents"~LOL

Trust me Jess: The cute factor is not huge here. However, I did think of you all when I was sewing and that means there is some love behind them. Have I told you all how much I hate making these little things lately!! :)

Oh, and yes, Poopy cocky is something that just never leaves your imagination once it is there!

Bonne: A chili dinner!!! I love the idea of it. Maybe my school could do that as a fund raiser!! Only my hubby will not cook...he will eat though. He might issue some orders as well. hmmm..maybe this would be a good tonic for him after last night!

Ha!! Well, I used to work at The Huntington Learning Center and we had these three kids who were triplets about 12 years old. The intelligence was not exactly evenly split between them, but they were cute and their parents were rich, so life will always be ok for them. One of the boys always wanted to distract me from making him work, and I had to constantly be on him to stay on task. Also, all three of them had a serious bathroom fixation.

One day, he went into the bathroom and like 15 minutes later, we have a line of kids wanting the bathroom! The center was small, so you could hear everything and see everyone at their little desks. So, I call to this kid from outside the bathroom, "Hey, come out of there! We have a line a mile long!" He says nothing. Again I called him to come out. I could hear grunting and so forth in there and so could the other students. After 20 minutes or so I ordered him to come out and he starts yelling from in the bathroom, "I have a poopy cocky mess in here!! I need my mother!!" Now, his brother and sister are rolling their eyes and say, "Well, here we go again!" So, I ask him to clean up and come out. He says, "I can't! I don't know how to wipe myself and there is poopy cocky everywhere in here!" The teachers were all stunned!! I asked him to come out again and he said, "Oh my God, I got it in my mouth now! I can't wipe it! I can't!! I need my mother!! It's in my pants, my undies and my socks!"

What do you do!!?? We called his mother and she came. It took another 20 minutes for her to clean him!! He was TWELVE!!! No, he was not retarded either. I could have understood that! She had to wash him, take his clothes (a school uniform) and put them in a huge black garbage back and then she left him with us for another TWO hours!! As she was leaving, he told the whole group of us, "I could not clean that poopy cocky mess! I can still taste it!" I quit a week later!

At my school, one of the guys I used to work with there is with me again. We still laugh about that mess. At the center, the kids are in those cubbie type of desks and you could see their little eyes above them as this scene played out. What a job!
