Hello I am new to farmgirl connection. I homeschool and LOVE children's books. A favorite of mine is "The Little Silver House" by Jennie Lindquist. It is about a little girl who goes and live with her grandparent while her mother is sick. They are a Swedish family and this book is about all their traditions and how they live on a farm. Even though it is a child's book (my DD loves this book). I love to read it too. It is out of print, so see if your library has it.

I've not hear of this book, even though I am a voracious reader. Sounds a bit like "Heidi" though. Maybe I'll see if I can find it in a used book store, if the library doesn't have it.

I requested the book from my library - they actually have more than 1 copy. Can't wait to read it!

There is actually 2 other books, that go with the story. First is the "Golden name day" (which is the best, I do not know what I was thinking. I should have post that book :) and the last book is "The crystal tree". Let me know what you think. Clarice

I picked up "The Little Silver House" yesterday, and it's an interesting book, though definitely slanted to younger readers. I will finish it though, as I'm wondering how it ends....
