Hi, Ladies. I want to give you an update as you all are so good to me, empowering me with your prayers, good wishes, notes, cards and surprise packages.

I have a new pain medicine which helps a lot. However, I am also tired and sometimes unable to type very well on the computer. So, I have not visited the "farm" in a bit only just once or twice to read up on all of you.

Tomoorrow is my run through and I meet the pain specialist. Friday I meet the medicial oncologist. Monday, I start radiation with weekly chemo for five consecutive weeks. I also need to meet two specialists in NY on the 25th. One will do a procedure on the 30th that is to place a stint in my bladder to the right kidney to save it from everything going on with tumor and treatment. I could not get in before starting treatment. So, treatment really stretches out to 6 weeks with missing a day here and there for appointments and Thanksgiving.

I got my port in on Monday. I know I'll be grateful for that as my veins have been rebelling against all the other prodding for bloodwork and tests.

So, if you can remember to pray for me, just the strength to get through each day as it comes as well as shrinking and dissolving away of the tumor. There is 50% chance the radiation and chemo alone will take care of the tumor. I am voting on this 50%!!!! I am working on the mind issues with daily relaxation and visualization/imagery. Patricia says all the help from you girls only makes it better for the universe/God to get the message and help me get there.

Thank you all for caring for me. I REALLY appreciate it. I will be living with my sister in NJ from Mon-Fri with hubby. The facility is Sloan in NJ. My friend is living here with her daughter during that time. We will come home Friday evening to Monday mornings. It should work out with hubby's parents for back up.

I will try and post as I can, but please know that you really are lifting me up and helping me so very mcuh.

Clare I'm with you through this. Imagery can help so much with so many things. Remember that all of us are a sisterhood and we are all holding your hands in ours and sending you strength. One big circle. Rest and keep visualizing that thing shrinking into nothin'.
We'll all be here.

Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

Well, I am the case making history at Sloan. I hope it makes good history there!! I was presented in the city Sloan as well as the NJ Sloan facility, and the new plan is to get even more radiation in there against that tumor.

So, instead of five fields there will now be eleven. At some point during week 2 or 3, I will have a mini CT scan and the simulation will be redone and fields adjusted to get even more radiation in there. We want to shrink it away from the small intestine first, then sock it harder with more radiation. All this is being done as careful as possible because of the intestine being so close to the tumor.

I was told by the radiation oncologist that this is all cutting edge stuff. Basically, I am using the newest technology and possibilities. I keep praying for God's hand to guide these doctors and technicians.

So, now I start Wed with chemo and radiation as Tuesday is the new run through date. I met with the medical oncologist and nurse and staff. Everyone is being helpful and reminding me to just ask questions and ask for help as situations arise. I am so grateful that there will be people to help me get through this time.

I met with the nurtitionist and got information on different protein drinks to help supplement my food.

My port got used for bloodwork, and I am so GRATEFUL for it.

Still working on pain medicine and those issues surrounding it, but I still just take it one day at a time.

Thank you all so much for the warm wishes. I refer to my printed sheets now for encourgement. I have a folder in my tote bag. I don't know what words to express my gratitude for your love and concern. It has really helped me keep my attitude focused on healing and being well. I hope you can feel my love and know I pray for all of you each day.

Clare, a wish and a prayer for you and for the doctors to have good eyes, steady hands and a good nights sleep before. You're gonna make it. We are all with you in this and someday it'll be your turn to hold us up when we need a sister. I have a lot of tummy problems and the protein drink that I like is called Muscle Milk and it comes in a lot of yummy flavours to try. You probably are going to lose a lot of appetite during the treatment and you need to keep trying to get fuel in your system to fight this bad puppy. Look for it online or at a nutrition centre. It's GOOD!
Sweet blessings on you.

Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

Clare, This is such good news. The Dr.'s are hitting this tumor with everything they have got. With the attitude and determination you have, plus all the Dr.'s and all the prayers that are coming your way, I really feel you are going to beat this. Even when things are not going to well and you are feeling badly because of the chemo and radiation, just keep your eyes on the future and what the end result will be. You healthy and well again. It will give you the reslove to keep going.

Prayers and Hugs
Mary Jane
