What have you all found to be the best thing for baby's chapped chins? My son is a little drool fountain and his chin is getting chapped and I know it will only get worse this winter.

He has very sensitive skin, so it is kinda hard to find things that will work on him. I just got him some Avalon Organics bath stuff and have used it once and he broke out in tiny bumps all over his back. I will try it again to be certain that was it, but man, I thought for sure that would work.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Funky skin must run in the family!!!

Thanks,
Toni

HI Toni,
My son (8months) drools constantly. I found that lanolin (the same kind you would use for breast feeding) works really well on chapped babies. My son is very very very light skinned and so he is really sensitive to almost everything. He has infant eczema. The lanolin is good because it is thick so it stays put and keeps raw skin soft to heal and it doesn't clog the pores.
Hope this helps!!
hugs--Jessie

P.S. I tried teh avalon organics diaper rash cream...broke him out terrible. it has alcohol in it and that will burn them something awful!

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine; O What a foretaste of Glory DIVINE!

I make my own beeswax lotion with beeswax, vitamin E oil, and olive oil with lavender essential oil and that works really well.

I've used the Lanolin before too. Bag Balm works too as it's mostly lanolin but it does contain some other ingredients so I don't know if you'd want him licking it.

Thanks ladies!

I still have most of the tube of Lansinoh left so I'll try that on him.

Jessie- My son is eight months, too!:)! He also has eczema and is probably doomed to have funky skin as I get rashy really easily. Thanks for the tip! Don't you hate when you buy a new product then can't even use it? I have a cousin who gets a lot of soaps, lotions, etc from me cause her son can use anything. Guess he'll be getting the latest stuff, too.

My youngest daughter (who is very very pale skinned and freckled) gets chapped skin really easily..especially on the backs of her hands in winter. Bag Balm is what always works best on her..and dosn't break her out. We had the same problem with the Avon stuff. I have tried alot of things on her. Gold bond hand creme worked pretty well too..but I like the bag balm. Good luck!
