Here is the recipe for my biscotti. It comes from the King Arthur Flour website. It was originally supposed to be Double Chocolate Walnut Biscotti, but as I had no walnuts, it's just double chocolate. Also, for two out of three of the batches, I used half dark cocoa and half regular. For the third batch, I only used regular cocoa and I think those were much better. The dark cocoa seemed to make them a bit too bitter. I really wanted to dip one end of them in chocolate before I sent them out, but with my BIL's wedding that weekend, I didn't have enough time. So here goes:

Double Chocolate Walnut Biscotti:

2 C. AP flour
1/2 C. cocoa
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
6 TB butter
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 C. walnuts
3/4 C. chocolate chips

Whisk the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda together in a small bowl. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well after each. Add the flour mixture, then stir in walnuts and chips. On a greased baking sheet, form dough into logs approximately two inches wide, slightly flattened. Bake 35 minutes, cool 5 minutes. Then cut into 3/4" slices on the diagonal. Put back on sheet and bake another 10 minutes.

Notes- When mixing in the flour, I found it easiest to combine it almost all the way, then add the chips and use your hands to combine it fully. I tried to stir the chips in with my spoon, but the dough is just too stiff. I also used parchment on my baking sheet instead of greasing it and I think it works well. The dough spreads out a bit, so be sure and leave plenty of room between the logs. I usually put two per sheet, but I use pretty big cookie sheets.

I know these are not the traditional biscotti, so I hope no one was too disappointed! Happy Holidays!

Holly have you gotten mine yet? If they haven't arrived by Monday please ship without mine. The USPS tracking hasn't been updated in several days. All is says is "Left Spokane" So not much info since that is one of the first tracking updates!

It's up to you Farah- I can remake and resend them. USPS tracking still says Spokane. Sometimes though it doesn't update until the package is delivered. Let me know what you would like me to do.

Hi,well I'm still waiting for one person to send payment, and since your cookies haven't arrived I'll give it til Tuesday.I know how those tracking numbers can be,they aren't accurate.Infact my Sister ordered a package from American eagle outfitters, and they gave a bogus #.So we called the post office and they gave her the run around.Long story short,we found out the post office was the one who gave the bad#.
Thanks for your offer though.I'm sure things will pan out.

Here's my recipe.......

Bonquet bars (almond bars)

2 sticks butter (or margarine)
2c sugar
3 eggs
2c flour
1/2 lb grated almond paste
powdered sugar

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add flour and grated almond paste. Mix and spread out in greased 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden or brown or golden brown! (My family likes them a little more golden, a little less brown--that way they're more chewy, like the consistency of chewy brownies) :) Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!!

I live in a traditionally Dutch community, and Bonquet is one of those cookies that is an art, like Baklava. My sister in law gave me this easy, peasy recipe that tastes very much like the original, but with a fraction of the work! Hope you like them!!

Hi everyone, here is my fudge recipe.

3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup evaporated milk
8-12 ounces chocolate chips or butterscotch chips or white chocolate chips or peanut butter chips (or whatever flavor fudge you would like to make, I use 12 ounces)
2 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow cream
1 cup nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix butter, sugar and milk in a saucepan.
Heat until 230 degrees on a candy thermometer. Or if you do not have a thermometer, bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly for 4 to 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in candy chips a little at a time until melted.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Spread into a greased 13" by 9" by 2" pan.
Cool to room temperature.
Cut into squares.

Hi! Sadly, my box came the day after we left on vacation, so my brother-in-law got the box, but he says they are great and not to expect any left when we get back. He's picky, too, so they must be good! I know the recipes I have seen so far look awesome. Thanks to everyone!
