Monday, October 8, is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. Just want to wish all the Canadians out there a Happy Thanksgiving. This is the one holiday of the year where there is no pressure of gift-giving, just time to enjoy each other and give thanks for all our blessings.
So, enjoy your family, your dinner, and don't get too stressed in the kitchen!

| How to you celebrate this holiday? Do you have the traditional turkey, dressing cranberries etc.? Does everyone have a day off from school and work? |

Happy Early Thanksgiving!
My dad is coming down for the holiday and is going to make dinner for us! Yay! (I'll be working all weekend sadly..) The usual menu - turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans, yams, buns, pumpkin pie..mmm pie....
Canadian thanksgiving falls earlier than US because the harvest is earlier - we don't really talk much about pilgrims etc., more about harvest, getting together with family etc. Oh, and the day after thanksgiving is not a big shopping day! lol! No black mondays up here... although with the way the dollar is right now, the border crossing sure has been busy.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love how my house smells the entire day as the turkey and other goodies heat up. I hope the Canadian farmgirls have a wonderful & relaxing Thanksgiving day.

Happy Thanksgiving, especially to all you Canadian Farmgirls! I'm cooking a big dinner for the family on Sunday the 7th (although technically the holiday is on Monday, a lot of people do dinner on Sunday - that's always been our tradition). I'm doing the traditional turkey, potatoes, stuffing, carrots and salad, but since DH is Ukrainian, we also add in perogies and cabbage rolls. My mom is bringing dessert, and I really hope it's something pumpkin-y.

| Yummy turkey dinner on the menu, probably indoor family skate, and a brisk fall walk after over eating. Happy Thanksgiving and God bless. We have so much to be thankful for! |

Happy Thanksgiving to you all and to your families.
We are having a traditional dinner here monday evening (which is a working day in Kuwait), with turkey, stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, turnip au gratin, braised winter squash and cranberry sauce, then apple and pumpkin pies. We will be a party of 17, a few canadians and people from Usa, Holland, India, South Africa, France, and Australie. Every family is making something so it will be a real traditional sharring and feasting.

For me, thanksgiving is about having people in that can't be near their families for whatever reason, distance, divorce, death etc.....I make turkey, stuffing, turnip casserole (alternate slices of turnip with slices of onion and use either chicken broth or veggie broth), mashed sweet potatoes with marshmellows and brown sugar, hazelnut broccoli casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. My husbands birthday is on the 5th so sometimes we have birthday cake as dessert too. I love having people over to celebrate this great harvest time of year. Happy thanksgiving!!!
