Well, it was bound to happen - the dreaded "kids catch everything when school starts" syndrome. My son came off of the school bus Tuesday with red, watery, itchy eyes. It's pink eye. No school until Monday! Now I have to watch out for evryone else and he hates the eye drops! Hmmmm, wonder what's next? Only time will tell!

I teach and get it EVERY year! Fortunatly since I am old enough to know to watch my hands and not touch I don't have to stay home. I feel for the kido's that get it though. It sure is a pain!

My son had it so much in fourth grade, we have our own wing at our clinic. Seriously, he either had that or strep that year.

I got it really bad this spring. I couldn't believe how much it hurt. I even had a slight fever. No idea where I picked it up, either.

I had started using the drops from my daughter's previous bout with it a few months prior. They did nothing. The doc had to prescribe the industrial strength eye drops.
What a relief that was. It cleared up almost overnight.

My boyfriend went through a stage of this where we couldn't get it cleared up for about 2 months about 5 years ago. I felt so bad for him! It looked like his eyeball was bleeding! We finally figured out that he wasn't letting it heal all the way before putting new contacts in and so was re-infecting himself everyday!

Hey Alee, isn't it time you stop calling him your boyfriend? Aren't you two "official" now?
(or is this a previous boyfriend? I can be a ditz sometimes)

Sorry to hear that!

The PinkEye drops you can buy at the drugstore (simalsan homeopathic) really do work as does collodial silver drops and they don't sting as bad as the prescription stuff.
