Well my garden was a "bust" this year. Oh the rhubarb did good and so did the raspberries - but few tomatoes , a little lettuce and some potatos. But I am not giving up - been preping the soil and just ordered some Garlic from Maryjane. So I will be planting fall garlic and maybe some onions. Next year is another year and I hope things will go better.
Can't wait to get the garlic and get planting.

Anne! I too, am awaiting garlic. Everytime I went to order it from Mary Jane, it said sold out, so I didn't check back--guess I should have (sorry, Maryjane), but I did order some from Seedsavers, and it will be delivered on my birthday, October 20th. I figured, with the heat we are (still) having, that should be cool enough to plant it then. And maybe the ground will not be like cement....one can dream, right?
My garden did well until mid July, and then everything pooped out. Our local weatherman said we are at a 13% deficit for our rainfall this year. He sure didn't have to tell that to my tomatoes!!!!
Anne, next year will be better, I promise!

Got my garlic on Friday in the mail - planted it yesterday. I was amazed at the size of the cloves, huge. Followed MaryJane's instructions, so can't wait for garlic next year.

You can still purchase from MaryJane and I got an e-mail from Wayside Gardens - they have garlic, shallots and onions you can purchase now on line.
