Autumn, I like the Gospel for Asia website. They really have it setup nice so that anyone can afford to help out.

Hey Annika, I looked at the Sew Much Comfort website. That's really a good thing! Did you request a packet? Just wondered if you know exactly what type of sewing is required. Is it gowns, pants, etc. I see that is made to function with the medical equipment that is being used by the person.

Hey Stephanie,
I have a soldier on MY list-thanks for reminding everyone.
Any word on your health issues yet? Last I read things were checking out good-which is bittersweet- especially if you atill aren't feeling well.
Keep us up to date!
Blessings

Hey Cheryl....you're welcome Glad the address for the soldiers will be used.

Autumn, I should hear from the doctor's office tomorrow (hopefully) about the appointment date for the next stop at the Gastroentologist (spelling??)....that looks like a new word to me..LOL

Anyway, I will keep you posted. Continue the prayers for my body to heal whatever it is that is ailing me. I am not good at being less than 100% so this is messing with me. I don't like this feeling of the "unknown"...Your concern allows me to vent about it some and that's removes anxiety for a while

And on a different note...the link to Bev's Country Cottage that Annika posted for the patterns for the Chemo caps, etc....that's also where I have a link to my Preemie Baby Charity listed It's in it's 10th year right now. Most everything over the years has gone to USA Women's and Children's Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. You can read at my website about it right here...www.dreamkingdomdesigns.com/preemiebaby.html Don't believe I've ever shared it with you so thought you might like to see where my charity focus has been all these years.

Thanks for your kindness and prayers, Stephanie

In response to Bev's addendum to our Chapter newsletter...

Here is a link to a post about not sending soldiers any mail. That is unless you know the soldiers name. In that case the mail will be delivered.

http://thisvetslife.com/?p=187

Here is an excerpt from the post at the vets life website that I thought would give us another opportunity to say thank you and to make someone feel loved this Christmas season.

So in conclusion, this holiday season do not send “Any Soldier” mail to Walter Reed.

Find a particular Soldier at Walter Reed and write them; or even better find a local veteran or VFW and write them. Show them your support.

While there are a few of us here, there are many more veterans in your local community that need your support during this holiday season. It would mean the world to them.

Thought everyone would like to read the reasons why they will not accept the mail for a "recovering soldier".

Talk to ya later, Stephanie

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I am farmgirl sister #41---my age for a couple of more weeks.
I hope to join in on the projects soon. Right now I am busy, busy, busy. I run an inhome daycare---hope to quit it as soon as possible. I am also like everyone else trying to get ready for Christmas. My daughter and I are in our churches Christmas play, which is on the 15th and having play practice most every night. So I will check in as I can between now and Christmas, but as soon as it is over I hope to become very involved. Again thanks everyone for the welcome.

I thought I signed up for the sisterhood. Filled in all the blanks entered my credit card. But have not received any confirmation. I even emailed them. That’s was kind of odd too. I had to fill out a form with my email address and oh well; I am going to make a call this afternoon.
I have a jacket in need of a patch!!
I can't wait to start working on some project soon too.
Are any of you ASG members? I am going to Chicago in July and would love to meet you in person.

Cherly,
I called and verifyed my membership. She said yes it would take a week or so.

Autumn,
As Stephanie said, it the American Sewing Guild. I joined a few years ago hoping to learn more on sewing. My group mostly does crafty items. But thats ok. The Guild has a yearly meeting with classes and a fashion show. This will be my first year attending and I was just wondering if anyone else was a member. Then if they were attending maybe we could meet for breakfast or lunch. And get to know each other even better.
I would love to be able to sew an outfit that does not look home made. For the most part I am fairly good. I have problems with zippers and the ease in sleeves and shoulders. My shoulders alway look puffy. My other problem is fabric. I purchase what I think is nice looking fabric only to make a jacket and think "yucky" Did I pick this fabric. I'm not wearing that thing."
Oh well,
I am verying interested in seeing what projects we as a goup are going to make.
