Just wanted to let yall know that I am withdrawing from this chapter. Things are so busy right now that I just don't have the time to keep up on reading the posts, let alone get any of the projects done. Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season!

Bev,
just took a peek at your aprons....love the "Jetson's met Mel's Diner".
I have a yard of that fabric, I had planned to make little pillows for my trailer with it, but, gosh that apron is so cute!!! I just might have to make a reversable 1/2 apron with it.
As always, your aprons are soooo lovely.

I found another charity site to add to our list. Looks like they help many people and different needs
I have a four day weekend with my sweetie here to help, so I hopefully can get my rump in gear and get SOMETHING done. I'm half done with my journal page :[

Hey Everyone, Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and staying safe in or avoiding all of the crowds right now.

I joined the Farmgirl Sisterhood the other day. I know the Henhouses are not ready yet but thought I'd go on and get my official number assigned

I guess everyone has read about it and knows we all have to be members in order to use our chapter Henhouse??

I know everyone is busy with the holidays but would love to hear about different charities you may already be involved with and what you are making for them.

I still like the idea of making the Headwraps, Caps, Hats, etc. for the ladies dealing with Breast Cancer. How many of you are interested in this charity? Just curious since I've been away alot and I know there hasn't been much activity with the other members for some time.

I am also a huge fan of animals so that's another idea I had for charity. We can sew, knit, crochet, etc...blankies, coats, toys...for the shelters.

Maybe someone will surface and want to comment about it

Talk to ya later, Stephanie

I'm for either of them. I love animals too and would not be adverse to a couple of charities to work on so long as it wasn't a huge pressure to get X amount done. I'm a slow poke :P ,But I love to help in any way I can. I have helped out on a rescue farm for horses and I give towels and blankets to animal shelters. I am torn between all of the charities, I want to do all of them...who needs sleep

I love the idea for the animals. We could make what we enjoy the most and donate to our local shelters. No pressure for a certain amount. Anything we donate will be one more than they had, right?

Thanks for responding

Have a great day! Stephanie

I really like the idea of the items for women dealing with cancer-I've never made any of those items , but I would like to learn to make the headwraps for them.

I joined also.....it all sounds so intereseting and so fun!

I LOVE the idea of the animal shelters too. The idea of giving/living artfully is such a joy to pass blessings onto those in need. I think it would be neat if some of us cross stitch/embroidery gals did sqaures for a quilt for a children's charity or somthing like that.

I joined too........can't wait to see how it all comes out.

I think these are both good ideas though I don't know how to make the things listed for the breast cancer women.
I also love animals and think that would be great way to go especially the shelters. How do you find out what they need? Just call and ask?

I joined on the first day it was posted....I was so excited to see things rolling. I sent out a newsletter today, but as everyone is so busy during the holidays, I have not gotten any more projects up and running. I like your ideas Stephanie.....I, too, am an animal lover. But I also like the other ideas that have been submitted. Hats, wraps, scarves, etc for breast cancer victims are a great idea, I think. Let's revisit all of these ideas after the holidays when we are all a little less busy. Whatcha think???

Well, if we want only one charity, I guess we should vote on it. I'm personally partial to having a couple to divide time with. Welcome to the beehive Maryjane Lee!

found another great charity this morning...Sewing clothing and gear for wounded troops.

I just went online and bought a goat for Heifer International. We are giving that donation in honor of my SIL and BIL instead of buying something they do not need. I have heard great things about HEIFER>.....they really do get the animals to persons who need them. A goat will supply a family with milk. If you are interested in this type of giving....check out their website...you can just supply a part of an animal or a smaller sized animal ....or a whole ark if you feel really generous!!!! www.heifer.org

I love goats, until they break out of a field and I have to chase them :P, I am thinking that I could do a goat or two or a goat and chickens. They are a great organization

We did about the same thing for our adult kids this year- we did a flock of chickens,a sewing machine(a treadle!!!) and a dairy goat - all going to needy families.

I think it keeps our own real needs in perspective.
