Hey Sharon, Good job on those aprons. Jess, lovely to see you posting. Do you feel like normal yet or is your body still running around and your mind screaming stop!!!!! Where are those fairies that help you catch up reading????? I think we all could use some of them. Hey Stephanie, was up late but not on line, taking care of sick niece. Everything a okay again for her, hoping to change my hours tonight, major sleep deprived, but this body doesn't always do what I think it should. Sitting her stichin another Christmas scene, I am enjoying doing that.
Enjoying life. |

Hey everyone, here's a macnine I want one of one day.... I've got my modern electronic Babylock but...these are super cool to sew on..I appreciate the vision of artful sewing of you ladies using the Treadles but I've always had a soft spot for the featherweights...would like one of all of them..http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200137814009&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010
Sharon,
Love all of your aprons..you should do really well with the holidays just around the corner!
Sarah,
Did you get your stitching straightened out?...sometimes a build up or just a piece of lint in the bobbincase can do this, low bobbin thread or maybe your tension spring is out of wack...What kind of machine are you using?
Carol Sue, Hope your neice is doing ok....what went wrong??
Where is Bev? Maybe she's teaching a class tonight...
Sweet Dreams to all,

She had major rotten infection and they were concerned with it being a kidney infection. It wasn't thank goodness. Can't sleep again, you would think with only sleeping 4 1/2 hours late late last night, I would be able to sleep tonight....nope, body goes haha, sleep you say.....lol Life goes on.... Carol Sue

Carol Sue, that sounds like a lot of major pain to me!! Oh, I hope they've got her on the right meds to get rid of the infection...I've been up for the past few nights and now my body clock is off again..but believe I'm getting in bed this time
Take care,

Sharon~ those aprons are great. I really like the snow scenes. Are they reversibles?
Stephanie~ nice looking machine. I've never seen one like that. Does the one piece remove for doing sleeves or something? I noticed it is tipped up in one picture.
Nice to see and hear about everyone's projects.
Jess~ Good to see you back, hope you had a nice visit.

Hey Ladies,
Do you think someone could email me a quick lesson in posting pics? I would love to share some of my projects that you ladies have inspired, but I have no idea how to do it! :) |

Sarah- within the first 3 topics is a direct link to photo posting. It is relativly simple(thats why I can do it) While we are waiting for your pics I wanted to post some vintage aprons just for fun. They are OLD! The patchwork one is thread-bare. I bought it over 20 yrs ago- just because. I dug it out of hiding in an old trunk and pressed it. I FINALLY have sewing/apron friends who can appreciate it.
The red one was done about 20 yrs ago by a 90 yr old friend that I visited weekly. She sat and hand stitched it for me as we visited.
The pink one was my grandmother's. Very special to me. She was MUCH shorter than I am but I still wear it when I miss her. I give myself permission to actually use it so it does have stains- but it just doesnt seem right NOT to use it. I guess I've been a farmgirl for a long time- I love the things we talk about here daily and I guess I have loved them for a long time!!! . Keep on sewing- even the beginners! We were all beginners one day. In some ways we still are- it's the helping one another and sharing that bonds us not the skill level.I have proof- I just learned how to do bias tape a few weeks ago!!!The farmgirls pushed me on and on and on till I finally tackled it!!!WOO!HOO! I got it too! Blessings! Autumn

Autumn, beautiful aprons.
The pink one caught my eye since it looks so familiar. I'm working on one now made out of a flour sack. By chance is your's made out of flour sacks sewn together?

JO Yes it appears to be- it is a pre-printed fabric with bias tape around all edges and pockets. I am guessing it is from the 50's- what do you think? The fabric is very fine and sofet-almost like th old really soft sheets. Blessings Autumn

Neat! The one I have is from the 70s. You're right about them being soft.
My granny used them for pillowcases. If she was lucky she'd get two sacks that matched and would have a "set" of pillowcases. Good times.
