Jess,
I so agree with Kathie...sometimes it can be life changing by just taking a long breath!

Hey Kathie,
I haven't kept up with Halloween mini's but can't wait to see them all when the swap takes place Hope your work days are gliding along and you are feeling well...

Sunshine

My microwave story is: My grown sons (in their 20s then) were talking about things they did together when they were little... and one said to the other..remember when you peed your pants and we put them in the microwave to dry them? They were jeans and they started smoking and burning...we took them out and threw them away!..they laugh and said "mom don't you remember missing them and wondering where the jeans went?". I was so surprised to hear the story that I never had any idea that happened...so said "what I supposed to do spank you both now!" !

I think you guys are right about using the bias tape to finish up the apron. Maybe I could make or find some black satin bias tape. :D

Hey Alee,

You will probably have to make your own bias tape if you want satin and prepare for some slooowwww sewing unless you've got one of those really nice bias tape attachments Sewing on Bias tape can be an adventure to begin with so using slippery fabric will really add a twist to your adventure...LOL Look forward to seeing your apron!

Alee, I have never seen anything but the black cotton bias tape. My suggestion is you make it yourself.....and I think that it would look stunning made from a black shiny fabric like satin!

Kathie, "ish!"
I haven't heard that since I lived in Minn. LOL
Things were always "ish" or "ishy" rather than "ick" and "icky".
I lost that after I left!

There's plenty of help here- sometimes it's just the cheers that help you go on when it feels over your head!

Important lesson learned!!!
I finally decided to make a dress- just a simple pull over jumper for fall.
I did all the important stuff-EXCEPT-I forgot to wash the questionable fabric before cutting!
Before I washed the finished dress it was a perfect 10-12 and fit great.
After I washed it- I looked like a sausage -but with lumps & bumps- and the dress is a perfect size 8!!
When I asked the lady at Hancoks about the fabric she said- it should be fine- not too much shrinking.
It was stretch denim- DUH!!!
I should have washed first!!!

Autumn

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
