Girl, You know how badly I would love to come and spent time in the Smokies with you, sitting in the tree house, watching the animals and laughing at their antics. Yep, the good life.

We took the grand girls to camp this morning, early morning. Poor LFD got the date wrong and they were a 1/2 day late. Gosh last night their were tears, but everything was better this morning. They were so excited they chattered away the whole drive.
I do have to say waking up at 5 am was a bit much. I woke up at 4:15 am, afriad to fall asleep because if I did, I wouldn't wake up on time. It is definitlely time for a nap. Quilt group is tonight and I will be the rummy dummy one!!!!!

Carol Sue,

How was "quilt night"? I hope you felt good enough to enjoy it! :0)

----------

It's looking like rain right now...I've been shuffling totes around the studio..I've got to repair the bathroom wall that's off my studio..it had a very large jaguzzi in it that I had taken out..this created a 5 x 7 foot area to put up shelves for fabric storage. So now to repair the wall and then I'm gonna experiment with my pattern tissue glued to the wall! I figure that's the best starting point since if it looks awful it will covered up by the shelves!

So what y'all up to??

Well, I must be losing my mind..I thought I had posted a topic in this part of the forum about Where Bloggers Create???? I don't see it this morning..I have it in the Gathered Up forum but unless my mind is failing me I also put it in the Stitching forum.

Maybe my mind is totally fogged since it was very late last night when I did it....but strange!!

Hope everyone is having a great day,
Steph

Moncia,

Well....you know how one idea will manifest another one....you know I have that UGLY dropped ceiling in the basement?....well, I'm thinking of gluing that pattern tissue to those ugly panels..the grid system is kind of off white so it would be a contrast..if I'd really commit I could cover the grid system too but I think y'all would have to lock me in a padded room upon completion..LOL !!

Karin was telling me she saw a sewing booth or something at a show where they covered the walls in pattern tissue and it looked real good.

Hello ladies!!

it's been so busy. I am repainting dd's room. What a mess and a big job. It wasn't done right the first time because we were in a hurry so now it's like double the work. We want it to be done well so it's taking quite some time.

i am crocheting a baby sweater for my sil. There is a shower for her this weekend. She is in her 40's but got herself pregnant so she didn't have to work. So sad-kind of a mess for my brother. Well what can you do? This is number 4. She doesn't really take very good care of the ones she has.

It's crazy.

Steph~I can't wait to see what you are working on.

Ruth, I'm sorry, I burst out laughing when you said your SIL got herself pregnant so she wouldn't have to work...I can't imagine a more demanding job than raising children...then you said she doesn't take good care of the others she has..that's so sad in light of all the couples and single women that would LOVE to adopt a baby amd would be wonderful moms...just makes you wonder sometimes.

Today my kitchen has officially moved from one wall to another one!!! LOL It's awesome...tomorrow the electrician and the plumber will be back to plumb in the new drain, water lines and wire the stove in and add me an outlet at each end of the island that the stove drops down into to. I'll get some pictures on my blog soon.

The 10 feet of windows are on order and should arrive by end of this week....so next Monday should be the beginning of cutting out that wall...woohoo...I'm gonna have 17 feet of windows across the wall that looks out at our great view.

I really reduced the size of the kitchen..I used to be a gourmet cook but a few years back when my gut went haywire and I went on meds for the IBS I quit cooking 95% of my food....raw is best or now that i"m in this area I have found a wonderful Amish market that makes fresh Chicken salad and Ham Salad.....I'm not going back with any overhead cabinets..I like the open look and I have that big walk in pantry so I'll utilize that for just about everything..A spot to make a pot of soup or salad is all I need. :0)

Well...I best quit rambling! I hope everyone has had a productive day and is feeling well...as usual, other than my blasted foot pain I'm doing pretty good.

Hugs, Steph

Steph, I remember a while ago that you were talking about putting up crazy quilt pieces over the panels in the drop ceiling!

Ruth, I hope things quiet down around your place!

Sounds like things are moving right along for you. I'm sure it is nerve wracking at times but will be so worth when you are finished.

Thanks y'all...you can go to my blog to see all the updates and what I'm up to. :0) I'll post more pictures later today of the new kitchen location.

Monica, yes, last year I talked about the quilt panels but I think the tissue is a better idea since it's very thin and won't add any bulk to the ceiling tiles.

Please forgive my ignorance, may I join your ranks...and how I'm a rookie on this site and to Farmgirldom. Among other things, I love to make handmade/handsewn goodies. I don't get along very well with machines. Here'z a photo of 3 of my needle-made friends. It is a pattern that includes 6 gal-pals, I don't have my Farmgirl done yet. The pattern is called Wimmenfolk.

Hey Shery,

Wow, that is a lot of work. I knew a young woman who sewed everything by hand. You do great work and it shows.

Hello ladies!!

Dd's room is finally finished. I washed her window today and put up the new curtains we bought yesterday. My husband hurt his back last week and was in a lot of pain. He spent most of the weekend laying on the hardwood floor trying to relieve the pain. Not fun. He went to work today but is still uncomfortable.

I have been getting some things ready for homeschooling. We have had some hot and humid days here and the garden seems to be doing a bit better.

What is everyone else up to?

Steph~I hope you have a great time with Thomas.

Monica~have you started homeschooling? How is it going?

Sherry~Welcome and I love those dolls. They are great.

Ruth, WE started already and it is not going to bad! I love it, but Isaiah and I are still butting heads! He wants to go play or just finish something when it's time to start school in the morning! Today so far has gone good we did science in the morning and tested things with Litmus paper! He had a lot of fun with that! I am still trying to get a routine down better, but so far I think it's going fairly well!
I hope hubby's back is feeling better!

Thanks, Monica. Glad to hear things are going well. I have been homeschooling for 4 years and my son and I still butt heads. They can be harder to settle down and focus.

Ruth, the room looks fantastic.

Gals, I wanted to mention a site. This is a great site, if you are looking for fabric scraps, or need to get rid of scraps.

http://www.fashion-incubator.com/archive/what_to_do_with_scrap/

I also started selling some of my fabrics and supplies on e-crater. Hopefully, you will see it below. The listings are free!
